....its just really upsetting to me. half of the questions i select to read are bashing christianity on purpose to get some attention. plus it seems that 75% of answers to a religion question regarding God are negative. and normally any answer to a question that does give serious advice is given a thumbs down. dont ppl have anything else better to do that go out of their way and be immature about ppl who do care about their faith? this is getting ridiculous....anyone out there agree with me? and for those who are bashing, what's ur excuse??

People's feelings of self-worth are tied in tightly with their religious beliefs. If people get riled up by opposing viewpoints, it's because somebody touched a nerve. I'm as guilty of that as anybody. I try to cut people as much slack as I can and be patient with them.

I think this is a touchy issue because it is so much more than respecting people's beliefs. Religion permeates all aspects of live, and I'm referring specifically to government. Being an agnostic, I have no problem with you or anyone believing whatever you way. It's your life and you're entitled. What bothers me is when someone takes that belief and tries to force it on everyone else. Right now the majority of the world believes in religion in one form or another and unfortunately not all of those people feel the same need to give their fellow human the right to live the way they want to in peace. It's perfectly fine if you disagree, but passing laws to interfere with another's beliefs is just plain wrong. I think the bashing is just a side affect to what many feel is an encroachment by the "other" side into their rights. It can run both ways, but the way the world works right now, the theists have the upper hand.

Social engineering is prevalent on this website by the ungodly. Every attempt is made to bash Christianity which is the sign of the times and prophesied in the Word of God. We are living in the spirit of the antichrist and demons, fallen angels and Satan are working overtime. As evil and sin increase so will this bashing until the power of the holy people is shattered.

If they can unite religions, then they can abolish or do away with God's absolutes in the Holy Bible and get rid of Christianity. Jesus Christ keeps Christians from uniting with all other religions. A strong push for witchcraft by the Harry Potter books has opened millions of teenagers to this ugly cult. Wiccans even say they are Christian. A Christian cannot be involved in Witchcraft. Wicca is just another word for witchcraft and witches trying to make it more acceptable.

Halloween has brought out the very worst in the ungodly because this is their night of evil.

I do not like it either, but read a question posted by an agnostic and see what the response is. I believe negative comments and judgment goes both ways.

Religion is a difficult subject to discuss rationally with people who disagree, especially in a forum that is anonymous like this one is. It is easy to be very rude and flame people when you do not have to look them in the eye.

Everyone thinks their religion is the One True religion. Christians believe that anyone who is not christian will burn in hell. Other religions believe the same thing but maybe call heaven and hell different names, and this brings about very strong feelings......after all more people have been persecuted and killed in the name of religion than for any other reason in history.

Ones beliefs should be a personal thing. Its religion that trys to get exposure with the public. They all push their agenda, and most of it is about power, money, or both. Believe me, ALL the faiths have so many flaws, within its own content.,it should concentrate on cleaning up its own act! If GOD were to return to earth tomorrow, I think the first thing he would do is, beat the hell out of 99.8% of ALL of the tele-vangelists preaching today!! 'WOE BE TO THEY WHO CORRUPT AND MISLEAD THE WEAKEST OF MANKIND. Remember too, CHRISTIANITY is only 2000years old,and its claim is that IT is the only way to salvation. Remember also, all the GODS, before christianity, all of which are gone AND forgotten. Are the 5000year old asian religions doomed because they knew not JESUS CHRIST?? Are christian s so vain , arrogant, and narrow minded to think only THEY will be accepted into heaven? Provided heaven even exsist!! Just live your life in peace and tranquility, and do no harm to anyone or thing, and I believe at your end of time on this earth, if a reward or almighty being exsists, you will be rewarded, with whatever that which exsists!! Peace be with you.. SOLOMON

It has been my observation that both sides are bashing. Both sides come at it from a position of superiority. The older I get, the more I see much hypocrisy among those who claim to be religious. I select my questions to answer by clicking on " home ", I randomly find religious questions. I stay out of there.

You're 100% correct. I also see "bashing" as meaning "I don't have any point to get across so this is all I can do". There's a difference between disagreeing with and attacking someone's faith. If more effort were put into discussing why you support your belief you could actually open someones eyes. If I'm firm in my belief I don't need to get ugly and if I'm wrong how are you going to let me know if you can't even discuss it? Time for me to come back to the real world though hunh?

Great question!

Sadly, i think there are a lot of lost and confused people out there who don't know who or what they are. I think a lot of that comes from parents expecting the school or the baby sitter or the daycare agency to instill morals and character. If your parents don't care enough to do it then why do they think someone else is going to do it for them? Christianity is an easy target. Let's face it, a lot of it's focus is on money and mega churches right now. No religion is "the perfect one" but Christian's have always been charged to" live their lives in the immitation of Christ" if you are really a Christian, you set the example every day in every aspect of your life. We who believe and live it, don't have to worry about bashers because we know where we have come from and even better, we are confident in where we are going.

This site could be considered "Satan's Playground" because Satan is a coward and doesn't like to show his face. All the Atheists and non believers can hid behind thier computers and bash all the believers.

Regardless of how upsetting it is to you, it paints a realistic picture of how religion is starting to be viewed by alot more people. People are sick of religious views being pushed on them and with the changing times they are starting to voice it more. If you didn't want answers from people of both views, why do you post or read questions in a public forum? Just because you hold a reverence for certain beliefs, doesn't mean that we all do. In your arrogance, you assume that you are right and that your beliefs should be treated with the utmost respect. Are you starting to have your eyes opened to how people view your beliefs? Good, maybe you will reexamine why you started believing them in the first place. The bottom line is that if you only want to see, read or hear views that agree with yours, stay in church. This is the real world and you have to have a thick enough skin to deal with all types of views.
