When was the last time you heard a God defend is own existence? Now that's the problem now isn't? Tell me what insured your survival as a child God's love or the efforts of your care givers? The human have not figured out they are fully responsible for their survival not so imaginary God that offers you no direct experience of his existence. If man would not waste so much time on blind faith and faulty belief systems and spend his time creating a better survival through is own evolutionary knowledge this world would be a much better place.

Every body that believes in something strongly will always defend it. Even an atheist will defend their non belief if they are attacked. No it doesn't demonstrate a lack of faith. If some one didn't defend their faith when some one attacked it, that would show more lack of faith then if they did. My opinion.

Your question is quite bias.
By definition, one cannot defend something unless it is attacked. So are you really asking why do people respond to attacks against God instead of just rolling over and accepting it?
And by responding about your belief in God shows a strong faith not a lack of it. If I had no faith, why would I care what someone would have said. What would it matter what someone said if it did not matter to me?

I have NEVER attempted to defend God.
I am supposed to "defend the faith", meaning to guard against heretical teachings and beliefs.
However, many Christians do not understand that their defense of The Faith is worthless without their own GOOD CONDUCT IN CHRIST.
So, if I am mean and spiteful and judgmental and always display bad character through the things that I do in the life I lead, I have no right to defend The Faith as my actions are always supposed to confirm my words.
The Apostle Saint Paul writes about this...:
"...who is he who will harm you if you become followers of what is good?
"But even if you should suffer for righteousness’ sake, you are blessed.
"And do not be afraid of their threats, nor be troubled.
"But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and ALWAYS BE READY TO GIVE A DEFENSE to "everyone who asks" you a reason for the hope that is within you; IN MEEKNESS AND FEAR; HAVING A GOOD CONSCIENCE, that when they defame you as evildoers, those who revile your GOOD CONDUCT IN CHRIST may be ashamed.
"For it is better, if it is the will of God, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil."
1 Peter 3:13-17 (New King James Version)
When shared properly, faith in the triune God (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) is not supposed to be an attack but rather a HUMBLE offering of a priceless treasure to anyone who seeks heavenly riches.
Thank you for asking the question.

Most people believe they are right and they want to share that belief with others. People want someone to realize what they themselves think they know. Later it may become an ego battle of who is right if they are not spiritually mature enough to realize when someone just wants to argue for the sakes of arguing and being right. You can lead a horse to water but you can't make them drink.

Some people want others to believe so bad that they seem pushy. I just tell of my experiences and hope that others will become believers. We cannot force God on to others, the Holy Spirit has to open the spiritual eyes.

We don't defend God - none needed. We DO celebrate our relationship with God.
It just looks to you like defense. One man's celebration is another man's smugness.
Consider that you appear to not honor God with your question, and there are some who tolerate such coyness by responding with harsh words.
Consider also, that you sound scared, very scared. Good luck with that.

People always try to defend their ideas and beliefs when they feel criticized. Theists are no different in that respect. But they can't defend their beliefs and ideas very well because they don't have any verifiable evidence on their side.

1 Peter 3:15 "But sanctify the Christ as Lord in YOUR hearts, always ready to make a defense before everyone that demands of YOU a reason for the hope in YOU, but doing so together with a mild temper and deep respect."
