here is the game plan without citing bible verses:
coming up to what is called the tribulation, more wars, earth problems (storms, earthquakes, strange weather things) will increase.
next (it is generally assumed, things will suddenly get really bad)
the christians are taken out of the picture by Jesus taking them because otherwise (meddling) christians would interfer with his operation.
about 25% of the world will died suddenly and the anti-christ will appear. Murder will be upclose and personal, as in face to face, famine will be wide spread. It will be hell on earth.
the man of sin (anti-christ) will show up, and bring a sort of peace for a time, jew/arab will get along, as will everyone else.
after 3 1/2 years, he will present himself God and all hell will break loose. Through out this time, people are dying in the thousands.
at the end of 1260 days from the day the anti-christ says, yo, I'm God, Jesus Christ will return and every eye will see him.
If you are a christian since the time the others were removed and have survived, you will enter the kingdom that Jesus will set up. If you are not a christian, you will die. There is no appeal, no mercy toward you, it is the end of your human living on earth.
The earth will be restored, a policeman as it were will be on every corner to keep people from committing crimes in the kingdom. Men will love Jesus and men will dispise and hate Jesus waiting for a time to act.
At the end of 1000 years, Jesus will allow men to rebell against him if they so desire.
then will the end come.
those who love Jesus will live in the new heaven and the new earth, and the others will stand before God in the Great White
Throne judgment and be put in hell, punished in proportion to thier sin.
Jesus says, today is the day of salvation, if you hear my voice, do not harden your heart.
Salvation is to those who believe on Jesus to save them, and you confess your sins and ask Jesus to save you.
Personally, my reason for coming to Jesus was probably different than most peoples reason, but the result was the same, he changed my heart, and in Christ, I am a new creation.

ok the world cant end in 2012 cause it works like this. First everyone in the world has to hear about jesus... like random villages in africa, cuba all of china... etc etc. and then jesus comes on to earth and when he arrives, all the believers go to "paradise" they just vanish! Poof! just like that! You wont even know what happened to me, you would just think aliens have come or something.
Anyways, then everyone else in the world has 7 years of satan reigning the earth, and also that long to repent and to have jesus in your life... those 7 years will be harder than the one we have now. After all that, the unbelievers go to hades and the rest to paradise and then everyone goes to THE JUDGE at the gates to decide where they are going.
and after all that is done... god will build a new jeruselum on earth and all the believers will be there in heaven and the unbelievers will be tossed into hell

It's more like the lottery: Jesus has a big drum with a bunch of names in it, and we all watch to see whose name is pulled out next. Of course *obviously* it's fixed: only the names of those who have personally accepted Jesus *and* posted messages on the Internet about how gays will die are in the drum. But Jesus likes to keep us all guessing, so a lot of us sinners will be on the edge of our seats.
Of course for many of us, we're hoping for our very young children who really haven't any idea about what to accept or not to get into heaven, but of course if we failed to indoctrinate our children early enough into believing things that weren't there, then our kids are going to hell. It says so right there in the Bible.

Hmmm, with over six billion names to call, that'll take a while. I wonder if he'll use some kind of photo ID system. And what about evil twins? Will he note the mustache and realize the good twin is unshaven?

He doesn't need a list he already knows who's faithful and who's not... And by the way everyone that is faithful will vanish into thin air at the same time not one by one, and if you're one of them, its automatic that you're accepted he doesn't need to judge you, the only people that must be judge are the dead, and the interesting part is the dead will be called first before the living...

Paul says in 2 Thes. that we shall all be changed in the blink of an eye from mortal to immortal and rise to meet the Lord in the air and there shall we be with the Lord forever more. He doesn't give a lot of details except to say that He will bring all the people who were believers with Him and that His coming will be like when lightening flashes across the sky.

It won't be Jesus, it will be the Mayan God, cause that is the year he said the world would be destroyed. The day before, I'm buying all the drinks!

there is nothing to do with God this year. maybe it s just a coincidence or satan show to the mayans this year. Jesus will come to rapture his elected that are very few . he will do that in the middle of the tribulation before the great tribulation. some people thinks that before he comes the elected will be prepared by Elijah ... dont waste time search Jesus repent yourself and confess him as your Saviour.

Woaaah that would take a long time I hope everyone has their ID. Never mind we have eternity, right? And does that mean we have to stay the same age we are?

Read Matthew Chapter 24 if you're really interested.
More than likely though - you are not sincerely interested, you are asking this question with some measure of whimsy and sarcasm - and the events of that fateful day will not really concern you.
