I have heard on thes forum before that Immanual is a man given name and not in the bible. I have just read in the prophesies of Isiah 7:14 that Immanual will be born of a virgin. This is a direct point of reference that the JW's should take special note of along with John 10:30.

I'm not unclear! "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." (John 1:1) "And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us" (John 1:14) We also not that it was Christ who was the creator as "all things were made by Him" yes! Jesus Christ was God manifest in the flesh

I think the big point here is you are referencing a book that has been translated at least a few times, of which there are many different versions.
Some context, spelling and meaning always tends to get a little lost in translation, especially with out interpritation to fit with new language traits etc.

So to be honest how anyone can claim the bible now is accurate I fail to understand.

I'm sorry, but it is 5 A.M., and I got off work early.
I really enjoy answering questions, and you about all I have.

I am unclear where the Old Testament and the New are in cohesion.
To me they are totally different genres.
One preaching the fear of a wrathful God and the other preaching the love that God has for all.

I can't reconcile those differences.

Sicing bears to eat unruly children and preserving a marriage feast.
It all doesn't add up to a cohesive total.

It seems that those which espouse it are selectively gathering passages and ignoring the sum of each body of work.

"Faith is not proof".

Thank you.

oh there are plenty of people that are unclear about this, it has been tackled many of times since I have been on here. I wonder if it is dong anything in the hearts and minds? But that doesn't mean we are supposed to stop, God can work over many years. Nothing has to come right away this second. But yes you are right, and it's so clear but yet some people don't get it?

That is CLEARLY telling us that us that Jesus was God made flesh. In the OT it was a foretelling. In the NT it is saying Here I am! There are many references on both sides. Immanuel means literally"God with us".

Oh thanks for that your recognizing this fact. It also said the greatest commandment is to Love God and love your neighbor as yourself. And also to love your enemies. I hope you can focus on Jesus this upcoming Christmas season since my late Dad died and my Mom has less to spend on the family for Christmas I try to focus more on the religious side of Christmas instead of the commercial side of it because I get really tired of it.

Do you ever wonder why the Start of that gospel starts off so poetic and then it fades into the usual ramblings? The writing style is clearly different as the book goes on. it's still a load of HS.

You are unclear. Jesus is the Word and Jesus IS God.

The answer to your primary question is a big "Yes!"

Jesus is indeed the Word -- but he is not the Almighty God now or ever. He is not some 1/3 part of a 3 headed monster god.
