Where do the 72 Virgins Muslim men get in Heaven come from?

In another question I saw a muslim man say that a reward in Heaven is 72 Virgins. Are these virgins real women from Earth, like us?

He also said that it's accepted in the islamic world that more men that women will reach Heaven. With 72 women per man, the numbers aren't adding up. Are these extra women magiced up? Are they nothing more than possesions like a house or a car?

In old days and even now the best thing a man can have is sex, money and power and cntrol over others. Islam is a series of rules and regulations that a clever man called Mohammad has made for the wellbeing of men to be able to use them to fight for him and bring him power. War and blooshedding is an unseperable part of Islam. same as sex....women do not go to heaven because they should be subordinate fo men to have sex every day and night. This is the most important duty for a woman in Islam...be available at any time for sex....and men should be available for fighting to be killed to go to heaven.

Oh no! You're almost 21 and you're STILL a virgin? Good for you. I don't know why you would feel ashamed of admitting that. My mom and my sisters waited until marriage to have sex, AND SO DID THEIR HUSBANDS. My mom and dad stayed married until my dad died. My sisters have each been married over twenty years. They didn't maintain their virginity to be someone's "prize." They just recognized the proper role of sex in their lives. They and their husbands got to know each other, to love each other, and committed to each other before they had sex. Think about that. There are a lot of guys who would say or do anything, agree with your taste in art, in movies, etc., etc. just to get in your pants. There are other guys who would like you for you, but wouldn't consider continuing a dating relationship without having sex. Now imagine dating someone for years, YEARS without having sex, getting to know that person inside and out, knowing all of that other person's faults, even some really annoying ones, and still loving that person anyway. Then you commit to each other for LIFE without having a "test drive" first to see if you're good together in bed. You do that because you know you want to be with that person the rest of your life, and you know that person well enough that if things don't work out in the bedroom right away, you'll work them out. Because sex is a really important thing in marriage, but it's not the ONLY thing, and it's not what you spend most of your time doing. Hope you find the right man and marry him first, and I hope he's a virgin too.

I head Gamal Badawi a renowned Muslim Scholar saying the following in his televised lecture on Islam on Canadian TV. He said,
"It is neither mentioned in Quran nor in any Hadith."

It is possible that the Muslim leaders of certain Jihadi movement of Palestine have made up the reward of 72 virgins in heaven for suicide bombers to excite young men to go for suicide bombing to kill their enemies.

Because Jews have F-16, helicoptors installed with rockets, tanks and highly sofisticated war machines from America and Palestinians have nothing to fight back with. Only they have is their bodies and know how to make bombs. They know sooner or later they will be killed any way, so they decided to kill themsleves by suicide bombs and kill their enemies too with them. They figured their method will cause too much fear and terror in the hearts and minds of jews because they love this life and never want to die.

Most Muslims scholars have said that killing one ownself by suicide is Haram and such person will be punished in hell fire because they also kill innocent people who may not have
hurt any of them like Jewish children and women.

I think there would be some misconception,it is not written anywhere that in heaven there are more number of men than women.Everyone wil be there who believes in one ALLAH and Holy Prophet Muhammad Is His last Prophet and accepts Islam and avoids sins.
