Yes, but no. The usual method of killing the bacteria involves cleaning the toilet as well. Even if not, killing the bacteria, rather than letting it run rampant, will make the toilet smell less. Go on, don't kill and clean, and enjoy the difference it makes.

Its called marketing.Studies showed that people wouldn't believe something to claim it was 100% effective as much as something claiming to be 99.9%,hence the labellings. If you clean your toilet regularly it is likely to harbour less bacteria than your dinner plate.

It'll come back when you so much as sit on it.
There are about as many bacteria living on your skin as on the toilet, to say nothing of the number inside you right now.

Agreed that it's an odd topic for R&S, but for those that don't know about the airborne bacteria released with every flush, you should check that out.

Actually it would way safer to drink toilet water like a dog rather to lick a spoon that has touched your kitchen sink. Germs are coating everything, every surface...It's pretty much like to disinfect your entire house and keep it like that...Would mean to have no life, never sit down, and never sleep...

Here's another fun fact: studies show that far more dangerous bacteria live on your kitchen sponge than in your toilet. Bon apetit.

And why do you care if there is bacteria in your toilet unless you have a dog?

I find that an inappropriate question in r&s. But, yes, you must routine clean it or your 99.9% will go down in crap.
