I totally agree with you. I was watching some programs with creation scientists speaking, and evolutionists keep changing dates on things, they dont know what they are talking about. Did you know wood can become petrified in a matter of days, all the stuff that the evolutionists say took millions of yrs to happen this guy proved that everything happened in a matter of a few thousand yrs. or weeks, or days for that matter. I was thinking how stupid they all were for believing this evolution crap. dont sweat it we know GOD created everything.

You do not understand a scientic theory apparently. Creationalism is not a theory - those of faith must believe it as FACT!
So let's see-science is not worthy . Hmmm. Let's see... When you turn on your lights when you get home and don't have to wait to rub two sticks together to get a little fire going for some light,- when you get into your car and drive without the use of a horse and buggy, - when you need medical assistance, - when someone has a heart attack and doctors are summunded and assist, possibly bring a person back from death, - when you walk to your stove and cook up some tasty morsel instead of over a big fire in the middle of nowhere, - when you go to your computer and type ridiculous things - YEP - Science - totally wrong, it is wrong all the time, it's theories are completely ridiculous. Just believe in a sky god. That's it - No questions asked.
AND, I'm sure that you take the medical advice given in the bible when you become ill too! Nothing like a little spilled blood of a bird to cure you.

I'm a Christian and I accept the evolutionists' theories. Why? Because I'm not a scientist so I don't study it.
Actually, Creationism isn't a scientific theory. In science, a theory is a mathematical or logical explanation, (Which creationism is not)
or a testable model of the manner of interaction of a set of natural phenomena, capable of predicting future occurrences or observations of the same kind,(Which creationism is not).
and capable of being tested through experiment or otherwise falsified through empirical observation. (Which creationsim is not).
It's not a scientific law because that's different from a scientific theory. A scientific law DESCRIBES an observation in nature while a scientific theory EXPLAINS the law.
For example, it is a law of science that if I drop an apple, it will fall to the ground. The Scientific theory of gravity explains why.
It's confusing...especially if you haven't studied any science. But I hope I cleared it up a little for you.

No, this is a case of you merely misunderstanding the use of technical jargon.
In science, a hypothesis is an explanatory model for something in particular. When aspects of that hypothesis are backed up by repeatable evidence and research, they are regarded as a theory. I'm gonna explain it in terms I hope you understand:
Evolution exists, it happens. It is verifiable, demonstratable and can be witnessed within species that reproduce rapidly.
Evolution theory EXPLAINS why evolution exists and how it works. The explanations are backed up by other scientific studies and evidence.
Another good example, if evolution isn't your bag, is gravitation.
Gravity exists, we can see its effects for outself just by moving about or dropping an object to the floor. There is no denying gravitation.
Gravitation theory explains why gravity exists. It explains that matter attracts matter at a ratio based upon its own mass. There are still holes in gravitation theory and it is in no way 100% provable.
Much in the same way that evolution's explanation is regarded as a solid theory, creation's explanation is still at the stage of hypothesis due to the lack of evidence, research, etc. In fact most creation proponents seem to be more concerned with disproving evolution than building up evidence for creation.
Does that help?
---
Also, I do believe BrotherMichael shot himself in the foot, so to speak. The first definition - an verifiable explanation of a particular phenomenon - is what is meant by "theory" when used in a scientific context.

Well, you have no idea what a theory is. A theory can NEVER be a law. It is a different part of science. Theories are made up of laws, therefor can't be laws themselves. It is like saying "if that staircase was real, why doesn't it become a step?"
And creationism IS NOT a theory. It is a hypothesis at best.
Do you not accept gravity, because it is a theory? What about germ theory? Do you take medicine when you get sick, when germs making you sick is just a theory?

"In scientific usage, a theory does not mean an unsubstantiated guess or hunch, as it can in everyday speech. A theory is a logically self-consistent model or framework for describing the behavior of a related set of natural or social phenomena. It originates from or is supported by experimental evidence. In this sense, a theory is a systematic and formalized expression of all previous observations which is predictive, logical and testable."
Once creationism has sufficient evidence to support it and has passed peer review, it might be called a theory. Until then, it falls short a scientific theory.
Evolution is a scientific theory. Just like the Theory of Gravitation, Electromagnetic Theory, Number Theory.....

Creationism is not a theory. People who say it is just confirm that Creationists are ignorant at the best, and dishonest at the worst.
A theory is an internally consistent hypothesis that explains existing observations and predicts further observations which are confirmed by extensive testing. Laws are merely a collection of consistent observations.
Creationism is not internally consistent, not based in observation and is inconsistent with observations of the world, makes no testable predictions, and cannot be tested. It is neither scientific, nor a theory, nor factually based.
You have faith. Faith in lies. I think you can pretty much show that faith in lies leads to spreading lies. So much for faith.

I would have to agree with the other people, creationism isn't a theory. A theory can at least have evidence to support itself but with creationism there is nothing to support it which doesn't make it a theory.
This is why people can't accept creationism because it is not a theory and there is no evidence to support it. Also don't bring the bible into this as evidence because that again can't be proven true.

what you think you can mandate law over nature.... how christian of you..... evolution is more than a theory..but narrow minded people refuse to see the proof dosen't mean it has not been proven.... all ideas begin with a theory... science is the observation of nature... I can see that human and ape have a lot of physical traits in common... I can see that spiders and ants have a lot of traits in common.. I can SEE these things... Sure Atheist , scientist, agnostics, pagan, and a whole lot of other people don't accept christians and their THEORIES, but we don't have to... we beleive through proof, and just because chirstians deny the evidence doesn't mean they know what they are talking about... So keep you head in the sand.. your eyes closed and your fingers in your ears so as not to allow common sense sink into your body and we'll keep demanding truth and evidence from each other till we are satisfied... and we are satisfied ...

Not all Christians are creatonists! dont generalize like that!
The reason Creatonism is not a scientific theory is because is isnt scientific. There are no actual facts that support it.
What does evolution have to do with faith? You believe that God created the earth, correct? Science is nothing more than looking at how the world he created works. Why couldn't god use Evolution or the Big Bang?
PS. if you claim that evolution cant be called true bc its a theory...then according to you creatonism cant be called true since its a theory as well???

I'm catholic and you do have a point, but in all reality every thing involving mankind's creation is simply a theory, because there is no factual evidence to back it up, scripture it's self is simply he said she said, scripture it;s self was written hundreds of years after the fact, and that in it's self makes one question it's credibility, today religion is being challenged and is loosing ground, OH as for faith simply another theory, peace be with you.
