I have been going through a really tough time lately. A real test of faith, love, and loyalty both on a spiritual and personal level. Its been going on for a while now. I need you to pray that God will see that His servant is weary, and that He will end the test, because she is in alot of emotional pain. I dont know what I'm not doing that I should be. Or if i'm doing something wrong. Please pray for God's mercy and grace on me. Pray that if there are forces of darkness involved, that he will cast them away from me. Pray that I will have peace and happiness again. Thank you so much. Much love to those who remember me in their prayers. You dont have to know my name or what the situation is. Just say "God you know who I am praying for. Give her strength. Give her what she needs." if you feel like that since you dont know me, that that's all you can pray, pray that. Please.

May God Truly Bless You

Was there a doctrine of the Catholic faith that was particularly difficult for you to understand or accept at first, and if so, how did you come to terms with it?

If Jesus Christ returned for his people today? Would you be one of the people that would go with him? Or would you be left behind?

I just watched a documentary about the Mormon faith and in the program they stated that they baptise the dead. I know that they don't actually baptise a dead body but what I wanted to know was, they don't just take a deceased persons name and bapise them? I am worried that my grandparents and relatives might be rebaptised Mormon. Is this a concern? And is there a way to find out if they have?

That the argument that the Bible isnt true becuase it was written hundreds of years after the events,is really a dumb and not very well thought out argument?Cuase obviously none of the people are thinking about writing down the events of their lives as their living it in the present;it would make sense that someone would write it down later. Then of course they didnt have the best technology or materials then to mass produce stuff like we do now,&of course didnt have bikes, cars or any type of advanced transportation.Last, the people&places being true, people later in the future wouldnt know the details of peoples lives that came long before them;so it would make sense that the authors truely had to be inspired by God, to know about the people, places&details of peoples lives that came long before they were born.
Again,is it just me, or is the argument the Bible was written hundreds of years later a bad¬ well thought out argument?

Again LOOK at the passage in CONTEXT. Notice the language.
"He was despised, and rejected of men; a man of sorrows..and with his stripes we are healed.
It seems to be talking about somebody in the past, that is, before Isaiah. "He was despised...was wounded...was bruised."
The theme of the suffering servant appears throughout Isaiah 40 through 55. The suffering servant seems to be talking about the nation of Israel. For instance in Isaiah 44:1-2 :
"But now listen, O Jacob, My servant...And you Jeshurun whom I have chosen.
So we find that Jacob (Israel) is referred to as a servant. The passage could be telling us nothing more than that Israel suffered for the sins of the people. This passage could have nothing to do with a FUTURE SAVIOR. Perhaps Isaiah was not even writing a PROPHECY.

Do you think that Such Prophecies of the Bible are impressive? Try Reading it from the perspective of a person who has never heard of Jesus. You will find that the claimed prophecies melt away..

I believe in the Holy catholic (universal) Church. If you have any questions, please look up "catholic" and "Catholic" online. There are differences! I also define the word church with about 3 or 4 different definitions.

How come some people ignorantly argue that people are born atheist.
Which is it?
I wonder why those guys can't agree on this simple principle.
If a every person is "born" atheist, then it takes no brains to be one, right? ......maybe that's it.

Does any one on R&S really read the answers to the questions they pose, or are they just trying to cement the opinion they already have? I mean what is the point? If you believe what you believe, why even ask a question? Too much competition here. Is that a Godly quality?

We believe the following article/scriptures to be true and are sincerely trying to save people from the fate we believe the world is heading to:

http://www.watchtower.org/e/200601/article_02.htm

So next time you see one of us knocking please keep this article in mind and if you really do not want us calling on you again inform the witness that calls on you that you know what we believe and why and that you would rather take your chances with possibly dying than listen to what we have to say.

Also tell them to make a note on their record not to call on you again. Just remember that according to our beliefs we have a God given responsiblity to warn people and possibly save them from what is going to happen to this world. Or else we ourselves could be bloodguilty before God.

Thank you for reading and being understanding with us for those of you that took the time to read the article.

From you One will go forth for Me to be ruler in Israel. His goings forth are from long ago, From the days of eternity."
Christians claim that this verse predicted that Jesus would be born in Bethlehem. But does it say that? First, look at whom this verse is talking about. Look at the CONTEXT, like you guys normally say. We find more about this ruler in verses 5 and 6,
This One will be our peace. When the Assyrian invades our land..And when he tramples our territory.

Read the whole verse. Micah wrote during the time of Assyrian dominance, and writes of somebody who will conquer Assyria. Does this sound like a description of Jesus? Did Jesus deliver "from the Assyrian?" No? So apparently the man spoken of in Micah 5--the one that was to come out of Bethlehem and defeat Assryia-- is not even Jesus.
This verse Cant be taken figuratively either, like Jesus symbolically defeated the Assyrian tyranny. If thats the claim, many others fit the bill too.

So much for the Prophecy?

I told this one boy at school that I had no religion and he told me I was "evil with no morals and most certainly going to hell also I was an abmonation to god". I don't agree it's not like I worship Satan or don't believe at all. I just don't think that we should have seperated religions...we all basically believe in a higher power of some kind.

Why or why not? How do you reconcile the ideas of forgiveness and ministering to all people with the idea of protecting the least of these (i.e. keeping children safe)? Any thoughts or experiences in this issue? Thanks.

Mostly interested in what Christians think/feel on this issue, but other perspectives are welcome too. No hateful comments, please.

I was told by another user that atheism is not a choice. How is that? I choose to follow Christ. That is my choice. Atheist choose to say there is no Christ. That is their choice. So is it a choice or isn’t it. Please I am not trying to be funny I want opinions please. I don’t need people saying atheism or Christianity is stupid. I don’t care to hear that. I want to hear you take on the choices or lack there of as someone has said.

I was just some ones theroy. No different than creating up buddah, or allah teachings. It has had so many mistakes in it. Jesus is all u need people. If u r going to do math or study science, always put christ there. The devil is god of this world. To create something like evolution, and to do it without christ. These people create this stuff just to prove God is wrong. Some apple falls on a head, were did they get there time from. Nothing is done with God. So be carefull in these teachings

What created the big bang? If A created the big bang, what created A? If B created A, what created B? There won't be an end to my question. Atheists have never answered this Q rationally yet (I have posted it here twice)

btw, don't talk about "uncaused events at the quantum level" again. Someone tricked me. I've done some research. There's no "uncaused events". The "random theory" is not the same as "uncaused".

Many Christians on this site say Ishmael is not a legitimate son of Abraham and they use many verses from the bible which obviously do not make any sense to anyone who has a sense of morality and justice.

Jews consider Ishmael a legitimate son of Abraham and many Jewish people on this site have acknowledged that Ishmael was also promised to be blessed with an Abrahamic covenant.

Both sons were to be given chances to deliver the message to mankind.

Somehow, if Ishmael is allowed a covenant.... then the theory of Jesus being the ONLY way for the world to receive the blessings from the seed of Abraham collapses.

In Fact Ishmael did receive the promise given to his father and he was ALSO chosen to take on the great responsibility to make The Lord of Abraham known to the world.

Islam is the Covenant of God through the first son of Abraham - Ishmael.

Muslims do not need a Jewish Messiah to get success.

God has sent his final covenant and final revelation through Islam.
