Spirituality is simply the individual quest for deeper meaning in life, beyond the mere material realm of eating and drinking and working and procreating and all the biological/social necessities of life. It's saying that there is something MORE to life, and attempting to find out what that something is.

There are Three Realms:

1. Spiritual Realm--this is where spiritual stuff happens.
2. Mental Realm--this is where thoughts happen, Religions too!
3. Physical Realm--this is where physical substance things happen.

All Religions occur (take place) in the MENTAL REALM.

Salvation (through Jesus) takes place in the Spiritual Realm.

Religions cannot RECREATE your Spirit in the Spiritual Realm.
Only Jesus can Recreate you (a spirit) and that makes it possible to go to Heaven.

Some Religions can help you be a better person, do good things, etc., but religions cannot recreate you or "SAVE" you.
Ditto..........

Spirituality is a liberated (unconditioned) and blissful state of being.

I am a being and I can be in different states of being - highly
conditioned or least conditioned. A spiritual, blissful state-of-
being is an automatic and inevitable outcome of transformation to universal consciousness from individual consciousness. It is a liberated state, having overcome all (psychological) conditionings imposed by identities that are often created by my thoughts and the environment.

Sometimes, a subject is better understood when describing the opposite. The opposite of spirituality is materialism. Materialism is identity with material aspects of life, including body and thought, (as thought is a process of brain which is matter) and all material possessions, position, status etc. (There is no such thing as spiritual thoughts. Spiritual thought is a misnomer.)

To possess nothing and to be possessed by nothing is liberation (in terms of identities). When there is no such identity, self-consciousness is replaced by universal consciousness and that is spirituality or spiritual state of being.

Self-realization is the means to spirituality. Self-realization is
realizing ones true nature of being unconditioned by personal
identities, memories of past experiences, beliefs, ideas, notions, impressions (samskara) etc.

The spirit refers to that part of a human life that is non-material. Angels are entirely non-material and are therefore pure spirit. God too is spirit, as in "the Holy Spirit". It is in the spirit that such things as love, hope, and faith are expressed, as they also are non-material. Unfortunately there are also evil spirits known as demons, thus not everything spiritual is good. Hatred, lust and anger are spiritual ills that need to be fought with the spiritual goods of love, chastity and patience. It is in the arena of spirituality that these battles take place.

You want the real deal.

Spirituality is diet-religion. It's the favorite term of people who've been turned off by organized religion, but don't want to completely relinquish their infatuation with the supernatural.

Spiritual beliefs that deal with mystical or unnatural phenomenon (i.e. the soul, ghosts, the "power" of nature, animal totems, fortune telling, esp, crossing over, etc, etc) are all baseless. Same goes for destiny, karma, predestination, channeling, remote viewing, etc. Utter nonsense.

Spirituality that makes you root for the home-team during a football game is rational. That is a sensible definition for the word.

The rest of it --- malarkey.
