Ok, so I've grown up believing gay is wrong. I'm Roman Catholic. But the society around us is changing isn't it? Aren't people gradually becoming more aware and accepting of gays?
But everyone is always saying to us, God loves you no matter what and all of that. So if God really is so good, and so loving, accepting and forgiving, why are we all being taught to shun gays by the Church?
I'm sorry, I'm just so confused. What do you all think?

This one person wrote that wearing a condom is murder since you are preventing a life from being born.

This is like saying not having sex with someone is murder because by not having sex with that person is not creating a life.

I agree late-term abortions in which the baby could survive without the mother is a form of infanticide. But killing sperm, that is just ridiculous.

The reason I am pissed off is because the Catholic church is making birth control and condoms harder to access. In many poor countries the Catholic church have banned them.
We have a right to be pissed off and denounce this garbage.

Yes, there is. I thought some of the questions here were quite intelligent and engaging, but I now choose to move on to more perceptive or sincere questions. Most of the questions here of late are so inane and impertinent that it becomes tiresome to find one worth answering.

The level of so-called comedic questions regarding faiths, God, etc. is somewhere between potty and repulsive.

Time to go.

Let’s face it. The world is changing. Science and technology are advancing. People are beginning to learn to think for themselves. It isn’t the medieval times anymore. The average American is not dirt poor and denied education like people were in the medieval times. Censorship these days is impossible due to the internet. People are getting introduced to non-Christian ideas as a result. The laws are such that the church can no longer silence non-Christian ideas by burning people at the stake. Just accept it. Even if you succeed in silencing non-Christian ideas in America, the rest of the world will move on without you.

Our testimony is all we have. Before I knew the Lord I was partying, drinking, living the life, having abortions when I felt like it, being in monogamous albeit sinful relationships, improperly raising my kids, cussing, worrying and robbing God.

He delivered me from all that and I thank Him for it every day. I could have died any number of times but He spared me. He has given me peace, protection, prosperity, understanding, wisdom to raise my children, and power to resist the lure of the devil. The unbeliever lives for what feels good to our flesh-thats easy..anyone can go around and do that. The believer (ideally) lives for what God says is right (even when our flesh wants to do otherwise.) That is the hardest thing in the world to do. Anyone who thinks otherwise should give it a try.

My situation is my love life, I want to keep hanging on and waiting but I'm not sure, I'm scared of the outcome. What if it's not what I want, etc. I'm only human, I have doubts, which is normal.

I'm waiting for someone, but chances are maybe he'll never come back, but there's that gut feeling that I should be patient and hang on. Though there are rough times, I just get lost and hate the pain. I just want to know what's in store for me in the future of this all. Will he?

-Thank you.

The catholic church would like you to believe the answer is wear a condom or use birth control is the greater sin.

Then again most of the Church would rather people would not even have premarital sex at all.

What makes Catholics so much holier than thou that they can make this morally retarted arguement while people die??

Religious f****s want you to believe they are helping the world.

This is crap they are merely spreading religion and the holy virtue of pain.

Seeing that most of our politicians in America (the President being an obvious exception) are smart people, why have we never had a major political leader who did not say that they believed in god??? I'm sure at least a good number of our politicians must be atheistic, but is seems that an atheist can't get elected to office in our modern world. My only explanation is that all of the atheistic and non-religious politicians are being forced to lie perpetually to keep their jobs. This is a major problem on its own. In addition, is anyone else concerned at how all our politicians seem to share the same narrow religious viewpoint, and that all perspectives within our government are coming from a religious basis? When are we going to get some true diversity in office???

The Night of Jesus Arrest

Judas then, having received a band of men and officers from the chief priests and Pharisees, cometh thither with lanterns and torches and weapons.

Jesus therefore, knowing all things that should come upon him, went forth, and said unto them, Whom seek ye?

They answered him, Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus saith unto them, I am he. And Judas also, which betrayed him, stood with them.

Notice the last verse here?

As soon then as he had said unto them, I am he, they went backward, and fell to the ground.
