There are a lot of people, not just Christians, that refuse to accept change. Admittedly, the Christians have been pretty good at resisting it so far... but you should realize that it is not all Christians, there are Christians that accept it (majority) and those that don't (minority, but better-known).
It is like this with all religions. There are old ways, there are new ways, and there are people who cling to the old ways even when they just don't work in society anymore.
And you will notice that, like you pointed out, people are beginning to embrace change a bit more now that they Church can't stop it. So Christians will accept change, given the chance. Maybe the Church can't, but that's nothing new. People are getting exposed to non-Christian ideas at an early age now, and it shows. And given the religious wars, persecution, and execution that was caused by such unwavering belief, I can't complain. And It seems like you appreciate the change, too.
So it's not the people, just the Church. Since of course the Church has no power unless it has control, and non-Christian ideas make it less powerful. When you go to a doctor for health problems instead of the nearest priest, The Church doesn't have the answers... so who listens and follows? Nobody. And that's how it should be.

You and a lot of other people have some very strange ideas about what it means to be a Christian. There are a whole lot of us who aren't hung up on the evolution issue and are all in favor of science and technology.
The main difference between us and some other groups is that a lot of us believe that there should be some accountability along with the progress. If something is clearly against the principles taught in the Bible, then trying to justify it in the name of 'progress' still doesn't make it right.
Nobody's trying to silence you or stop scientific progress. But I've lived long enough to know that there are some things that are a whole lot easier to start than to get stopped once you've decided that you don't like the direction they're headed.
"Make haste slowly" isn't such a bad idea after all.

Of course the world is changing and mankind is learning more and more. Jesus said that in the end times, man would have a kind of godliness without even understanding what it is. God's word never changes. It is fixed in heaven and there is no argument against it. We may understand more about our physical existence but there is so much more to life than that. Even in modern day more and more people are becoming aware of spirituality, as this site proves. This is something that man really doesn't know about and does not have a scientific explanation for. I would rather trust my God who does know and has my best interests at heart than to go with the flow because the world says so.

(Mal 3:6 KJV) For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.
God is love and has always been love. The reason that He gives rules is because of His love for us. Sin works death, death is not only physically dieing, but also sickness and poverty and every other bad thing including war and abortion.
And no the average American Citizen is not well off, all one has to do is look at the large cities and see all of the poor that struggle to even live and look to everyone else that struggle to live week to week.
The answer to poverty is not more programs it is in people turning their hearts over to God. By turning their hearts over to God, then they will be placed on the path to life and understand that hard work is what people need to do.
Return the taxes to the people so they can have the resources to better the nation.

Nobody ever said that Christians couldn't or wouldn't accept change. Infact we welcome the change with open arms, because it is a sign that the return of the Messiah is getting closer. The prophesy will be fulfilled soon. Everything that has taken place and will take place has already been written. All Christians have to do now is continue following God's word and wait for the return of his son Jesus Christ.

Open your eyes. The world that will be moved on to won't be what you think it will be, because, firstly, this world will no longer be, period. But in the eyes of the powerful, the intellectual elite, the people who are striving to bring about a one world order, your freedom is of no consequence. Your property is their's. Your children will be educated by them as they see fit. Your womb won't be used except to produce what they want and need. Your name won't matter because you won't have one, you will have a number. Non-christian ideas, indeed.

diverse variations are in step with translations from diverse factors. merely by fact the King James replaced into first does not relatively propose that it is the main precise English translation, merely that it is the single that maximum everybody is responsive to. jointly as in the previous translations have been often no longer translated quickly from the Greek/Hebrew texts, modern translations tend to count number extra heavily on those texts. diverse translators additionally paintings extra and much less actually from the originals. some translate particularly much be conscious-for-be conscious, without concern for no be counted if clarity and contextual information is lost. Others paraphrase for clarity yet lose various the precise meanings conveyed by skill of the words. From a historic attitude, the King James version wasn't relatively the 1st English vernacular translation, merely the 1st properly-prevalent one. there replaced into relatively an in the previous translation that prompted the King James version. no longer merely that, however the 1st King James translation replaced into made at a time whilst English as a written and spoken language replaced into very divided. It replaced into the e-e book of the King James translation that first relatively standardized the English language for the time of areas the place it replaced into spoken. Translations are continuously slightly complicated. often diverse languages use words and words with diverse nuances and those nuances are annoying to seize in a 2d language. For variations translated no longer from the unique texts, yet by skill of an intermediate (often Latin on the time of the King James and French on the subject of the Douay-Reims, to illustrate) it relatively is even harder to seize those diffused meanings. Greek, the unique language of an considerable share of the Bible, is very nuanced with many comparable words that every physique equate to easily one English be conscious. The texts will possibly no longer additionally thoroughly trust one yet another. Hand copying manuscripts reason changes to look. in specific cases those are spelling blunders and in specific cases the changes are larger. whilst distinctive early texts exist, comparisions are used to purpose and decide it relatively is the least corrupted. various the interpretation changes is additionally because of this actuality.

I' m sorry, but you have some of your history mixed up. As far as burning at the stake goes, the Catholic Church (no offense to my Catholic friends) would burn other Christians at the stake for not conforming to their ideas of religion, for being "heretics." More Christians were burned at the stake and other forms of persecution than were non-Christians. The people who instigated this persecution were not true Christians, because a true Christian is an advocate of one of God's greatest gifts: freedom of choice.

Why do people hate Christians so much? They do accept change. They just don't change their beliefs. Are people of Jewish religion going to start believing in Jesus? I don't think so. The world will always change, but not religions. God Bless every one, christian or non-christian.
