I don't know where you get your information from but the only "Christians" I know of who were against technological development were those who ruled the church in Rome and they were against anything that went against what they claimed the Bible said, whether the Bible really said it or not.

Christians throughout the centuries have been working and contributing to the different fields of technology. Do you think that the men who invented the telephone and television were not Christians or at least had made a profession of faith?

Here's a link for you if you want to learn more about Christian contributors to science and technology.

I am a Christian, and I have been for several years. I have a television, a radio, cell phones, and a computer. I see nothing wrong with these things, and the Christians I know agree with me. With these technological advances do come the opportunities for evil, such as the t.v. using pornographic images etc., but it can also bring about ministries to reach people for Jesus. The evil comes from the user, not the device.

Face it Alberto there is great evil in the examples you have given. True great good can be seen as well, but evil seems to be the constant. Even if we did not have these inventions the world would still move on as it has for centuries.

You should take your own advice and quit criticizing those that try to warn people of the evils that are about to plague the average Joe (and Joe an't two brigt yno?)

That is a made-up statement/question if I ever saw one. Christians have never been against technological development. The only thing Christians speak-out about is using technology for sinful purposes. Taking something good and useful, and turning it into something misguiding and hurtful is not only a sin, but shameful in itself. Just like your question here.

The catholic church saw themselves as the source for all knowledge. This worked out pretty well for about 1500 years, when there was a limited amount of new knowledge being shared.

there's still a bit of that remaining in their psyches.

☼ alberto, look around; where do all modern technologies come from? Christian world mostly! And Christians are not against ‘evil devices’, they are concerned how we use them!

Could be answered in many different ways, but, bottom line...it's because those things have a tendency to pull the mind and Spirit away from God.

Not all Christians are represented by those who are in their religion. Not everyone in a religion thinks exactly the same.

Have a good day.

Because being "simple" has always been their thing. I mean if you read the bible it's all about being simple and listening to and doing what the church wants you to do oh yah and paying your income to the church.Do you really think we were just blown into existence? If you do then you have picked the "simple" answer to the question of our existence.
