Many Christians on this site say Ishmael is not a legitimate son of Abraham and they use many verses from the bible which obviously do not make any sense to anyone who has a sense of morality and justice.

Jews consider Ishmael a legitimate son of Abraham and many Jewish people on this site have acknowledged that Ishmael was also promised to be blessed with an Abrahamic covenant.

Both sons were to be given chances to deliver the message to mankind.

Somehow, if Ishmael is allowed a covenant.... then the theory of Jesus being the ONLY way for the world to receive the blessings from the seed of Abraham collapses.

In Fact Ishmael did receive the promise given to his father and he was ALSO chosen to take on the great responsibility to make The Lord of Abraham known to the world.

Islam is the Covenant of God through the first son of Abraham - Ishmael.

Muslims do not need a Jewish Messiah to get success.

God has sent his final covenant and final revelation through Islam.

A fair question.

According to their interpretation of the Bible, Ishmael was Abraham's illegitimate son; therefore, he cannot be called the son of the covenant. In all likelihood, they contend that Isaac was superior to him. For them to degrade Ishmael and still call themselves followers of Jesus is beyond comprehension.

I don't believe that Jesus ever degraded or slandered Ishmael, or thought he was superior to Ishmael.

I've never heard a Christian "degrade" Ishmael, as you say. Only speak the truth, which is what the Bible says.

The Old Testament clearly says, "your wife Sarah will bear you a son, and you will call him Isaac. I will establish my covenant with him as an everlasting covenant for his descendants after him. And as for Ishmael, I have heard you; I will surely bless him; I will make him fruitful and will greatly increase his numbers. He will be the father of twelve rulers, and I will make him into a great nation. But my covenant I will establish with Isaac..." (Genesis chapter 17)

I think that's pretty obvious. Also, when Ishmael was teasing his half-brother Isaac at Isaac's weaning celebration, he and his mother Hagar were permanently expelled from Abraham's family.

I don't think I need to explain any further...

God gave Abraham all the land that he could see, north, south, east and west in his covenant.

Abraham and Sarah could not have kids so Sarah told Abraham to sleep with Hagar, her Egyptian maid, so his seed would be preserved. He did, they did and Hagar gave him a son that was named Ishmael.

Ten years later, when Abraham was 99, God told Abraham that Sarah, who was 92 years old, would have a son and his name would be Issac.

When Sarah had Isaac Abraham wanted to give Ishmael the land that God had given him because Ishmael was the eldest son and Abraham loved him more. But God said "NO, the covenant I gave you will be given to Isaac and so it was done. This caused a rift between Isaac and Ishmael. Ishmael thought he should have the land and God had given it to Isaac. This is THE reason the Jews and Muslims have been fighting ever since....over the land God give to Abraham and Abraham had to give to Issac.

The descendants of Issac became Christians and Jews and the descendants of Ismael became Muslims. The Bible says that Ishmael was a WILD man and would hate everybody and everybody would hate him. Ishmael was illegitimate.

So, there you have the reason that the Muslims are fighting the Christians and Jews. Cut and dried. Pops

* Islam doesn't degrade Isaac but why do Christians degrade Ishmael ? *

Such things are done in the spirit of exclusion. Convenant is listed in the bible over two hundred and eighty times, its usage is connected diversely from stones to blood.

Listen to Jeremiah.

The Bible Jeremiah 11: 10
They have returned to the sins of their forefathers, who refused to listen to my words. They have followed other gods to serve them. Both the house of Israel and the house of Judah have broken the covenant I made with their forefathers.

And Hebrews

The Bible Hebrews 8: 7
For if there had been nothing wrong with that first covenant, no place would have been sought for another.

And Ezekiel

The Bible Ezekiel 37: 26
I will make a covenant of peace (Islam) with them; it will be an everlasting . I will establish them and increase their numbers, and I will put my sanctuary among them forever.

" As Salaamu Alaikum " = " Peace be with you.",
Jesus did not speak English. America and Europe are not mentioned in the Bible or Quran.

The Bibe John 20: 21
Again Jesus said, " Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you."

The Bible Deuteronomy 21: 15 - 17
If a man has two wives, and he loves one but not the other, and both bear him sons but the firstborn is the son of the wife he does not love, when he wills his property to his sons, he must not give the rights of the firstborn to the son of the wife he loves in preference to his actual firstborn, the son of the wife he does not love. He must acknowledge the son of his unloved wife as the firstborn by giving him a double share of all he has. That son is the first sign of his father's strength. The right of the firstborn belongs to him.

The Inclusiveness of The Quran.

The Holy Quran 3: 085
Say: " We believe in God, and in what has been revealed to us and what was revealed to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, and the Tribes, and in the books given to Moses, Jesus, and the prophets, from their Lord: We make no distinction between one and another among them, and to God do we bow our will in Peace." If anyone desires a religion other than Peace, never will it be accepted of him; and in the hereafter He will be in the ranks of those who have lost.

The Creator is one, one race the human race.

Have a pleasant day.

Here's a good question: Why do they think they are the ones who are allowed to judge whether a child is "legitimate" or not? God is God. All children are legitimate, and should never be treated badly for whatever their parents have done. If God did not want a child to be born, it would not be born. A child only comes due to the actions of God (well, we do our part but you know what I mean). How is a child considered not legitimate? It's there, isn't it? It's alive and human, isn't it? It can do anything children conceived in marriage, can't it?

And most muslims have more respect. We grow up with it. Converts also see it when among them, and experience it as well before converting. We follow our religion more closely, and in most cases in real life even when wronged, we won't even say a word of it to the other. Christians are different, though. They like to kill, it's in their veins. Look at history. They are the most bloodthirsty ones, have destroyed many cultures, and imposed their religion on wherever they went. Even today, the so called "missionaries" give food and lodging to those in "third world" countries in exchange for their conversions. I know people from these countries, and they have told me they witnessed these people who claim to "help" making the people who don't even know english state that they believe in Jesus (PBUH) as God, then being given food. Muslims don't have to do that. You don't see us going door to door.

you say: "God has sent his final covenant and final revelation through Islam". My answer is....You are wrong!

Islam came at around 600 years (today's calendar) after Christianity. Why such a long wait? Huh?

Jesus has self-proclaimed he was God !!!! Without doing any of the seven fulfillments, Christians call him the Messiah and misinterpreted what was said by people living at that time, which means...words to mouth...NOTHING written.
He was a preacher like the ones we see on TV in America today, and people were brainwashed, like today (nothing has changed)

Muhammad was a warrior in the first place (like a Sadaam Hussein of today) whaterver he said..people followed. Right or wrong. He just used Ishmael name because he was not Jewish and went to Egypt instead staying with Abraham.
You can be only recognized as a Jew only if the birth's mother is Jewish, not dad..sorry. Now you get the story.....

blah blah blah.......blah blah blah.....

I do not degrade Ishmael, but the covenant is with Isaac.

Gen 17:19 And God said, Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed; and thou shalt call his name Isaac: and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his seed after him.

Sez who? Knowledgable Christians know that Ishmael was Isaac's older half brother, whom God did indeed promise many earthly kingdoms. But the Promised Redeemer was to come through the descendents of Isaac through Jacob. You have every right to your earthly kingdoms. But salvation does NOT come through the line of Ishmael. Mohammed was tricked by Shaitan, not Gabriel.

Don't make the mistake of judging Christians by the words of some rude people who claim to be Christians. That is equivalent to judging Muslims by the actions of terrorists who claim to be killing for Islam.
