Why does chapter 18 of leviticus the sexual sins contains no reference to it being wrong for in adult to have sex with a minor? It almost seems to encourage it.verse 17 makes reference to not having sex with a mother and her grand daughter with no concern for age but for incest. All the verses for not having sex with a grandchild relate to incest not age for the determining factor for it being wrong.Isn't it strange that this is the number one book used for condeming homosexuality as in abomination to god an act committed by consenting adults but in act that hurts innocent victims has no penalty and almost seems encouraged.I wonder if that is why the church seems to blame gays for pedophilia instead of dealing with the true source. Please read your bible and realize I did not right this to upset people just to point out what I consider an injustice and a major biblical flaw.

you guys always tell us we have no proof of God's existance other than the Bible and stuff, but what proof do YOU have that God does not exist? just wanted to know. oh yeah and are most of you raised up as atheists or do you guys just go through a stage where you have come to think that there is no longer a true God.

Jesus strongly approves of the law and the prophets. He hasn’t the slightest objection to the cruelties of the Old Testament. "Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets. I have come not to abolish but to fulfill. Amen, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest part or the smallest part of a letter will pass from the law, until all things have taken place." (Matthew 5:17 NAB)

So, accordingly, Lev. 25:44 states that I may indeed possess slaves, both male and female, provided they are purchased from neighboring nations.

Is this okay? Or would it be better if I stuck to my own ungodly values of not taking or owning slaves?

The belief that a cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a woman made from a rib was convinced by a talking serpent to eat from a magical tree...

Me and my girlfriend are moving to the USA this fall. She's a Christian, I'm an atheist.

We both hate it when people forget that there are many religions on this planet, so we both get annoyed if somebody assumes their beliefs are the only correct one.

Let's assume I get sick, and end up in a hospital. We will both put our trust in doctors, and as a little bonus my girlfriend will probably pray.

In the hospital, what has the bigger chance for us to be exposed to?:
1) an atheist telling my girlfriend that her prayer is useless
2) a Christian telling me that I should pray to God

To us, both are equally bad.

I don't intend to divide groups with this question. In a world with this many different religions, we both feel everybody should leave others alone when it comes to religion. But I'd just like to know what we have to prepare us more against.

The three biggest religions with one deity that can't get along (Moslems, Jews, Christians) all have in common:
-The same Holiest city
-The same holiest spot
-The same basic tennants..and most importantly
...THE SAME GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What is the problem here? God doesn't have a favorite player on the Yankees, he doesn't root for Notre Dame (sorry my Catholic friends) and I don't think he has a favorite religion.
Everyone should shut up, share a prayer and enjoy a nice frosty beverage together.

1: Breaking into someone's home to steal things to sell for money for drugs (apparently they have a meth problem)

Ok, if I think that is wrong and makes a person a bad person to include in your life - as in, it's not wise to include this person in your closest circle of friends, nor is it a good idea to have this person around your child - if I think this, does that mean I am a bad, evil, judgemental person?

2: A person borrows $300+ because they can't pay their rent, then they refuse to pay it back to the person they borrowed it from - and this is just ONE area where the person displays a pretty big lack of integrity - they also freely admit to cheating on their boyfriend and occassional drug use - does it make me a mean, evil, judgemental person to feel that this is not the type of individual I want to have included in my life?

3: If I had a lot of respect for a man who pretended to be one thing and then turns out to be another, am I judgmental to say I don't respect him
