Why does chapter 18 of leviticus the sexual sins contains no reference to it being wrong for in adult to have sex with a minor? It almost seems to encourage it.verse 17 makes reference to not having sex with a mother and her grand daughter with no concern for age but for incest. All the verses for not having sex with a grandchild relate to incest not age for the determining factor for it being wrong.Isn't it strange that this is the number one book used for condeming homosexuality as in abomination to god an act committed by consenting adults but in act that hurts innocent victims has no penalty and almost seems encouraged.I wonder if that is why the church seems to blame gays for pedophilia instead of dealing with the true source. Please read your bible and realize I did not right this to upset people just to point out what I consider an injustice and a major biblical flaw.

Please add book chapter and verse to responses. Also in the period of jesus it was not oncommon for 10 and 12 year old wives or for a slave owner to demand sexual favors from a slave.

You raise some pretty good questions. I cannot ascertain as to why this is overlooked, but if I were to speculate (and I stress the word speculate), I would say that you touched on it in your additional details. Children enter puberty and mature at different rates. In the distant past, young men and women married and started families in their teens, (and in some cases in the early teens). It was a simpler time and the harshness of life forced children to mature emotionally and mentally much faster.
Today things are much different. Perhaps God knew that over time these things would change, and implanted a natural instinct to protect children within us so that we would pass laws ourselves. Each successive generation would modify those laws as needed to protect the children of our time.
As for the scripture, homosexuality and pedophilia; a man is a man, and a woman is a woman, but children are constantly in a state of change. It is difficult to define on paper in a time when biological understanding was limited to little more than the birds and the bees, what constitutes a youth who is and is not ready for the mantle of parenthood.

Well,Jesus said speaking of kids,"If anyone harms one of these ,it would be better if they tied a stone around their neck and jumped into the sea than to face me"
That's pretty tough talk.
