Good question my dear, i'm not an atheists but then again i'm no believer. Never read the Bible and have no desire too, i pay no attention to any kind of religion of what so ever. I don't know if i would say i capitalize God, out of respect for others, its more because it's his name and the proper english way is to capitalize. But then again does he exist?

"Jesus" is a proper noun, and thus it needs to be capitalized. If "God" is being used as a proper noun (as it often is in Christianity, as many Christians are unfamiliar with the tetragrammaton for some reason), then it should be capitalized too.
I also capitalize "Santa Claus" and the "Flying Spaghetti Monster." Good grasp of the rules of our language know no philosophical boundaries.

I generally don't capitalize 'god' because I don't see it or use it as a name but I will capitalize 'Jesus' because it's clearly a proper name not ever used as a generic term.

Grammar.
Sometimes I capitalize "God" as a name to differentiate from the generic noun 'god'... Jesus is a name and therefore capitalized.

Jesus because it's a person's name. I don't capitalize god since there are many gods in mythology but I do capitalize Zeus or Yahweh because those are also names.
Just curious, why don't christians believe in spell check. It's not "athiests" or "capilolize" and it's "Y!A" if you want to get technical.

Because they are proper nouns. Zeus is fictional too but you don't write his name "zeus".
btw: I'm not an atheist, but I don't believe God is supernatural - I believe God is the natural universe, which is kind of hard to deny exists.

God is used most often in Western Civilization as a proper noun substitute for Yahweh. Jesus is a proper name in and of itself.
Because of the confusion of God/god, I do my best to use Yahweh (or other specifc name) and deity instead of God/god.

Because it's a name, and that's proper English. If there's a fictional character in a book named George - who doesn't exist - you still capitalize it.
