Another verse just popped into my head, and it is:
Luke 2:14
"Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests."

Isaiah 21:7-8

And he saw a chariot with a couple of horsemen, a chariot of asses, and a chariot of camels; and he harkened diligently with much heed:
And he cried, A lion: My lord, I stand continually upon the watchtower in the daytime, and I am set in my ward whole nights...

I studied every religion before deciding and my least favorite (other than Islam) was Hinduism. Their belief in kharma and reincarnation has had horrible consequences on their people. They believe you are born into your position in society based on kharma from your past life. If you were a murderer you will be reincarnated as a dhalit or untouchable but if you were a good person you will be a brahman or another favored class in their caste system. They have no pity on the poor, sick or disabled because they assume that you deserve and are being punished for something.
You don't believe me? Read some books about Hinduism written by Hindus.
Are hindu beliefs like reincarnation and kharma possible to save or will they just lead to the caste system and other inequalities we see now?

After I just typed that this verse came to my mind...Jesus speaking: Matthew 10:37
"Anyone who loves his father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves his son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me;

-So what is the first verse you can think of right now?

I recieved this email a little while ago from a friend....

Dear Friends,

I am writing to ask that you keep Rick Marks, a life long friend of mine, his wife Emily and especially their son Lawrence in your prayers. Emily was expecting twin boys in early August, but one of her amniotic sacs ruptured at only 21 weeks causing a premature deliver of their son Charles 6 days later. Charles fought hard for 7 hours, but died later that day. Their other son did not deliver for another 6 days and was born on April 4th at only 23 weeks, weighing 1 lb 3 oz. Lawrence is in the NICU at Baptist South here in Montgomery. His condition continues to improve, but is very fragile. Please visit their website for updates on his condition.

If the gold plates were here, they could be analyzed by experts who would simply agree that they were as claimed, a history of a pre-Columbian people in the Americas...OR a fraud, and would state the reasons for this conclusion.

If the Book of Mormon is the most correct book, why did the LDS church choose to change "WHITE and DELIGHTSOME" to "FAIR and delightsome"?

Which word did Joseph see as he used the Urim and Thummin, or the peepstones in the hat?

It seems to me that if the plates were here, it would settle the whole issue.

I don't buy all of that religious junk. I want to but I just can't. I judge things by logic. And religion is by no means logical. I know you're supposed to have faith and stuff but I just don't fall for it. I've been to church. Nothing they've said convinced me. They are just assuming that I already believe and that they are just cheering me on to be a good person. I need facts that the Kingdom of Heaven exists. I need God explained in a logic problem. If there is a God, I want to make sure I'm on good terms with him when I die. I don't want eternal suffering!

To be rooted in His love?
I came across these scriptures today when I was reading my bible and I wanted to share them, and ask if you thought about this lately:
Ephesians 4:11-16
11And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers,[a] 12to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, 13until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood,[b] to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, 14so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes. 15Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, 16from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love.

I was told that Muslims believe themselves to be descended from Ishmael just as the Jews are said to be descended from Isaac.

Is this true?
If it is, do they believe themselves to be a holy priesthood because of their descent?

Any other information you have on the role of Ishmael in Islam would be pretty much appreciated, too. Thanks.
