Jehovah's Witnesses believe the bible to teach that most dead humans will be resurrected to life in a restored paradise earth, with the hope of living forever under God and Christ.
So what does the bible teach about "the soul"?
A "soul" is a life, with no implication regarding some immortal otherwordly entity. Each deceased life is in Jehovah God's remembrance (with the potential for future resurrection), but the dead do not exist anywhere but memories until and unless the life is resurrected.
(Ezekiel 18:4) The soul that is sinning - it itself will die.
(Ecclesiastes 9:5) For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all
(Ecclesiastes 9:10) there is no work nor devising nor knowledge nor wisdom in Sheol ["hell"]
(Genesis 2:17) But as for the tree of the knowledge of good and bad you must not eat from it, for in the day you eat from it you will positively die.”
(Genesis 17:14) And an uncircumcised male who will not get the flesh of his foreskin circumcised, even that soul must be cut off from his people. He has broken my covenant.”
(Judges 16:30) And Samson proceeded to say: “Let my soul die with the Philistines.” Then he bent himself with power, and the house went falling upon the axis lords and upon all the people that were in it, so that the dead that he put to death in his own death came to be more than those he had put to death during his lifetime.
(Job 33:22) And his soul draws near to the pit, And his life to those inflicting death.
(Psalm 78:50) He did not hold back their soul from death itself; And their life he handed over even to the pestilence.
(Isaiah 53:12) he poured out his soul to the very death
(Acts 3:23) Indeed, any soul that does not listen to that Prophet will be completely destroyed from among the people.’
(Revelation 16:3) And the second one poured out his bowl into the sea. And it became blood as of a dead man, and every living soul died, yes, the things in the sea.

If you believe that the 144,000 listed in Rev ch. 7 are fleshly Israelites,
Then you must also believe that Jesus made a mistake in the list.
The list in Rev. ch 7 does not agree with the fleshly sons of Jacob, nor does it agree with the list of the 12 tribes in the book of Numbers.
So either Jesus made a mistake or he was referring to a different Israel and not the fleshly one.
This leaves only Spiritual Israel, whom Paul calls a new creation in the book of Gal.
(Galatians 6:15-16) 15 For neither is circumcision anything nor is uncircumcision, but a new creation [is something]. 16 And all those who will walk orderly by this rule of conduct, upon them be peace and mercy, even upon the Israel of God.
Here fleshly Israel is circumcised, Gentiles are uncircumsed,
being joined together as the Israel of God.

Our soul belongs to God... The easiest way to understand a soul -
Think of a pitcher of water... That is GOD~~ In each of us, from the day we are born, God pours a drop of Himself (the water) into us (or a glass). We live life, protecting the soul... But as we grow, and mature, and sin... The water becomes dirty... It can be purified only through Jesus... And He DOES purify our souls. God only wants to put back into the pitcher (Himself) the pure droplets of water out there... He does not dirty, tainted water full of sin... He will only accept purity... So there u GO... The soul never belongs to man, for it is something that God instills in us. It remains His... whether he takes it back, or not~

the soul is different from the spirit ....
Animals has souls but not spirits .. although sometime it is written and referred to souls in writings but meaning the spirit... the 144,000 is symbolic number as it doesn't make sense that those to be the only one to be pure in God's sight... truly if you count the righteous they are more than 144,000 since creation..

It's a fantasy. Absolutely nothing supports this but what a few whack-jobs who walked around in the desert said 2,000 years ago. There's no more reason to believe this than any other bunch of whack jobs that we have spouting stupid crap that we have walking the earth today.
