I don't think God does punish us.....I think we punish ourselves in many ways......if we go against what's humanly decent or against the basic rules of life, then we cause our own punishments really.....we live in an imperfect world where imperfect people do things that can also cause us misery, but that's other people, not God, that's responsible for the wrongs commited.
I know many feel that if God cares he'll stop harm from happening to everyone, but we can't expect to be free agents if we also want God to have complete & utter control of us......we can't have it both ways.
Think about it honey.....it can't be God doing the "punishing" because there are a lot that live decent lives that still get hurt physically & emotionally......there are a lot who thumb their nose at God & all things good, yet still don't seem to be "punished" as much.....
Besides you're putting a human way of thinking onto God......he doesn't get any pleasure in revenge for revenges sake & certainly wouldn't "punish" people without letting them know for sure that it was him & what they were being "punished" for.......it's not his way & not in keeping with what we know of God.....

To Punish looks back-----Discipline Looks ahead;
Some Parents don"t know the differance,
A Believer"s sins were Judged at Calvery.The Believer is to
Judge Himself by what He allows.At the Judgement Seat of Christ Prior to the Millenium Reign of Christ on Earth,The
Things that are done for Christ is the Focus,There will be no Unbeliever at the Judgement Seat of Christ,
At the Great White Throne Judgement of God ,at end of 1000 yr Reign, all Unbelievers of every Dispensation will stand before God all those will be cast out,No Believer will be in that Group. How does God Punish now,He doesn"t Sin brings consequence.You are living under the Grace of God now.This means God isn"t mad at You,Of course if You want to Fight God now,You don"t have arms long enough.

The punishment is you punish yourself not others. If one(god) punishs another, he will lose love and with hate. Will he be god again? The punishment is a karma(result) which we through out the seeds and waiting for circumstances ripes to harvest. Seeds spread out with a good chance and circumstances will become harvest very soon. Some might still waiting for circumstances to grow. Or seeds are not a good example; let threw banana skins on floor, besides the skins turned ruined and dirt the enviroment. We step forward and easily to slippy down. To throw out banana skins is (seeds), slippy down is Karma.
Do you agree?

If you did something wrong, you will punish yourself having to live with what you did. I don't think God works that way.

He doesn't , not now. We will be judged when that day comes and there would be no worse punishment than being forbidden to heaven!
We do however punish ourselves while in this life time, and well we should, because we are sinners and should feel remorse and confess to God our failings and sorrows because of them. When bad things happen, that is not "punishment from God". It could not be as all mortals will experience grief in this life, I pray these experiences will only serve to make us grateful for our blessings and pray for strength and help when we are troubled.

The Bible teaches us that God is still holding a grudge about the apple that Adam and Eve ate thousands of years ago.
The Bible says He's still punishing us for what they did.
That's why I stay away from Middle Eastern religions
