When someone posts a long answer do you also put a thumbs down without reading it? Or how about reading the first sentence and then a thumbs down?

Numbers 31:7-18 , Deuteronomy 22:28-29, Deuteronomy 22:23-24, Deuteronomy 21:10-14, Judges 5:30

All of these things seem to say that the writers of the bible had a hard time finding a wife and believed it was okay to take one by force. Wouldn't that make them the equivalent of cavemen?

I don't think God needs ones money and I'm sure electricity and rent for the church wasn't an issue when the bible was written. So how did this come to be and for what purpose? Back then money wasn't always being made by peasents or slaves,what would God need with farm animals or baskets of fruit that one might had only have instead of money in those days. I just don't think that the needs of the church is an issue for God,you can be in a field or in ones house and have a congregation to worship. Wonder if the money was for paying these people back in the day to build these huge temples, that had all these window and ceiling paintings,gold trimmings,etc..
Now it's for the preachers and the higher ups to see the world or to pay for that church basketball team that has nothing to do with God. Just a thought and observation. I just have a problem when it comes to money to save your soul.

51 Then, behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; and the earth quaked, and the rocks were split, 52 and the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised; 53 and coming out of the graves after His resurrection, they went into the holy city and appeared to many."
It always makes me feel proud to be a soldier of the Lord. Even after he died he gave life. He let every one see the good that could come. Even the saints got to live life again as we, His servants, all will be able to after the Rapture.

If I found definitive proof that god did not exist, would you allow me to be your king and worship me? I would lead atheism into new heights and hopefully in 2000 years I will be viewed as god.

I'm going to have to take an extended vacation from Yahoo! Answers and I may not return. I considered just disappearing but I've had some good exchanges with some very smart people here so I decided I would say good-bye.

Essentially, I'm just not well enough physically or mentally to handle the torrent of ignorance and negativity here. My therapist has suggested (not insisted) that I protect myself from destabilizing influences and I think he's right.

I thought initially that this would be an interesting and fun experiment and a way to explore some issues of concern to me but it hasn't really worked out that way. I have had some fun, and thanks.

I'll be fine don't worry about it and I hope this hasn't sounded too whiny. "Can't take the heat? Get out of the kitchen", right? and so I am. Best wishes to all the good people here and keep up the good work. The list of people I like is a bit long for personal acknowledgements but you're all in my contacts.

They haven't done anything mean to anyone here. Just because they don't agree with you doesn't mean that you can just get mean and rude. I got many cruel answers to my questions. I think all this hatred from people who don't belive in Christianity needs to STOP. If they're doing something to you then tell the truth, don't lie just to keep us all down.

What happened when you told your family that you are an Atheist? What was their reaction and for those who havent told them yet whats holding you back?

Theoretically= You are a woman, you are married, in love, and have 2 children. You believe that when you die as well as your family, you will all be together in Heaven (if you make it there of course) Lets say you die when your children are young. Your husband is lonely, wants a mother role model in his children's life, so he marries another woman. He knows that is what you would want for him and he still will always love you. When everyone gets to Heaven, new wife, children, husband. Do we all become one big happy family? Obviously you would want to be with your children and they would want to be with their step-Mother as well. Does your husband get to have two wives? Or does he choose which wife to have? Do you end up alone? Just curious on your thoughts.

christians were saying yes!

this doesn't make sense! i have been told that if you truly repent something then you will be forgiven. and that to truly repent means there is no way you will do it again because you were so repulsed by your actions, and you wholy give your heart to god.

so why is it that christians are saying YES, you will be forgiven if you truly repent again? isn't this just a scape goat to do whatevery you want?

I like being a good person and all that jazz but I really don't want the eternal life thing.
