I believe a tax judge declared it a religion and the government was too spineless to appeal the ruling. Several European countries don't consider it a religion. Have you read L. Ron Hubbard? He doesn't have a religion, he just rants and tries to get out of paying taxes. His followers do the same except they try to get money from new members. If you join scientology say goodbye to your bank account.

i was born, baptised, communed & confirmed in the catholic church.
although i never really believed, i played along to keep my parents happy.
nowadays i consider myself atheistic but others tell me im still a member of the church.
i personally dont have problem with that but i would like clarity on a few things.
1-can i still be a catholic if im positive no god exists & i am vocal against the trappings of reigion in general?
2-is it possible to have my name sticken from the books, like i was never there? (just for proof to others)
3-if so, how is it done?

For the watch to be invented, it required a group consciousness…Society had to have progressed to a certain point before that watch could even be invented. (Like you can’t invent a computer just after the hammer.)

But for a single God to exist that suggests the watchmaker does not have to be part of some group consciousness or society. And if that’s true, show me a feral child who has written a 300 page novel.

I’m not trying to prove atheism or theism. I’m just saying the analogy doesn't prove a single god exists unless the watchmaker built the battery-operated mechanical watch before experiencing any type of socialization.

If God didn't need prior knowledge to create, why use the analogy of the watchmaker when clearly he could not have invented the battery-operated mechanical watch without prior knowledge? God has no teacher.

If Christians follow Christ's examples, and Christ was Jewish, and Jewish people have to follow a kosher diet, then Christ must have also followed a kosher diet. Yet somehow, Christians don't follow that particular aspect of Christ's life. Why? When was it decided that Christians can eat non-kosher food even though Jesus wouldn't have?

is creation a myth, a fable?

If god really did create the universe,.... what was the formula he used to create its first particle-- (pre quark.)
I cant seem to find it in the bible,...... theres plenty of miracles in there,.... but no formula.

There was a study in which where we get our morality was checked. They had two study groups, Believers in god and Atheists. They gave a scenario in which one person's life was threated and so was a group of 5. In order to save the group, you had to sacrafice the one. Both groups chose to sacrfice the one in order to save the 5.

How is this? Believers say that their morals come from a book or their god. Atheists say that they get their morals from our evolution, not from design. Who is right?

Now, as a question, so you can not feel weird; what would you say if some creepy guy walked up to you and freely said "I worship Zeus!" [And was serious]

The bible says nothing about an outward expression of faith for baptism. What does the bible say it's purpose really is?
Thanks,

Ok, I was always told that God created humans with a free spirit to choose what they wanted to do (right or wrong) so that when we worshiped Him we would have to make a decision to do it and not just do it becuase we had to. Angels on the other hand had no choice and had to follow God. so God created use becuase He wanted someone to worship Him who wanted to worship Him, but if it is true that angels don't make a choice then why are there fallen angels and the Satan himself? and if the reason I was told we were created wasn't right then why were we created?
I am a christian, and I'm looking for a knowledgeable christian to answer this question. I believe in God and trust the Bible I don't want to disprove it I just want to

when Jesus said that they willn't see nor understand?

Luke 8 :10 And He said, "To you it has been given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God, but to the rest it is given in parables, that 'Seeing they may not see, And hearing they may not understand.'

Shouldn't we spend more of our time/money helping christian families, communities and countries?

A creation must be tested to see if it is worthy. A expression is more like art, the beauty is in the eye of the beholder. One may ask, an expression or creation of what? One must divine being to know the answer. And what eye am I talking about?

Most believers believe that this event will happen in their lifetime. But so did those who lived 500 years ago and nothing. What if it doesn't happen in your lifetime or in a million lifetimes. What then?

It sometimes boggles my mind that even though we are a very intelligent species, we are also capable of believing things we know are not true, but will believe them anyway. As if faith is enough to alter the laws of nature.

The end of Israel, Judea and all of the boasting about their mighty God.

And all because the surrounding nations learned to smelt iron.
