We have had counsel about being careful when on the internet and mistakenly talking to the wrong people. Do YOU think it is wise to preach using the internet even though we have all heard the same counsel saying don't do it? If you do preach via the internet how do you resolve it in your mind that it is harmless and okay? Don't you think the society would have published something saying "use the internet" if it were a good idea?

It seems that sometimes when Christians are asked, why they believe in God, or why they don't believe in evolution, the answer is because the Bible says such and such. That doesn't seem like a very good answer to me. 2000 years from now, are people gonna think we can fly on brooms because it says so in Harry Potter?

hold on, just who ARE we trying to convince, jungian thought would have us believe that what we don't like in ourselves, we project those qualities onto others. when we reproach those who don't feel as we do, is that a projection of our own doubts and questions? atheists, you not exempt from this question .........

Most scientists I know are not out to kill religion. I don't understand why Christians hate on Darwin and villify him, since everything I have ever read about him suggests he was an honest man trying to search for truth. I deconverted from Christianity to agnosticism after I realized all the problems with the Bible (contridictions, wrathful OT God).

As for evolution, the only thing I really take issue with is the way it is conducted. I see a lot of arrogance in the field as everyone who finds a flaw is automatically tarred as a creationist. I also have a problem with the fact that there is no fail condition when it comes to finding fossils (i.e., if you don't find the fossil, it doesn't disprove its existence; parallel arguements are being made about string theory). Other than that, I don't see the problem, since it otherwise fits the mold of science very well.

1st of all i am catholic and the girl i like is half Lebanese and half American. Her dad is the Arab and her mom is the American. Would this make her a Musilim or a Christian? I would ask her but i think that is a weird question to ask a girl i might ask out.

My parents never baptized me for some reason when I was a child, although they were Catholics. I never asked them why. I asked my friends if I should go to church and they all said I would be really, really bored, and believe them. I asked my parents if they would bring me and they always said they would talk about. They talked about it and then forgot to talk about it or something. So without being baptized I can't go to church and I don't think my parents want to get me baptized for some reason. I don't want to take these classes for a year and I don't want to get baptized so I don't know how to be religious.

why can't you just not marry one? And leave well enough alone? Why do you feel you have the right to impose your beliefs and values on others who may not agree with you? Why do you feel that the government should take a political stance based on a religious sect? Do you not believe in the separation of church and state?

it says in the end those dead with christ will raise first. Well what happens if you weren't buried. What if you were burnt you know in the oven. Will your ashes raise from the sea or whatever?

Okay this is funny, but what if a cannibal ate you and you are still in the stomach. What happens then?

blasphemy againts the father will be forgiven
blasphemy against the son will be forgiven
but blasphemy against the holy spirit will not be forgiven becuse it a sin from the heart

does this mean that if you commit the unforgiven sin you have to actually feel that way

and does it mean you cant be condemed
if you say it when you are half asleep
and say it subconsiosly

can you be condndemed for just saying that or do you have to mean it in your heart

If the R&S section was broken up into smaller sections? For example, Christianity, Paganism, Athiest and so on. Would we all maybe get along better if we had our own seprate spots? What are your thoughts?

weird question. But in the bible it says women should dress as women should, and men should dress as men should. It means men and women aren't supose to dress in their opposite gender's clothing. Men aren't supose to wear girl jeans.

But what i'm interested is the hair. In this website it says men aren't supose to have long hair. Check it out. http://www.lavistachurchofchrist.org/LVarticles/Hair.htm

What do you think about that. I am a guy with long hair. Don't answer me because of how bias you might be by society and the world. I know it's somewhat accepatable. I'm here to serve God. I want to know wha he deems acceptable. Not what the world thinks. So how are we supose to dress. More importantly let's talk about my hair. I am a guy.

This behaviour is tantamount to criminal negligence. He who has the power to disseminate his message to all the world, in all languages simultaneously, entrusted his message to a tiny group of a tiny ethnic group and expected this to be spread as the "gospel" of truth everywhere. He should have known that he was inciting to hate and war by revealing his message this way. The Christian God or the Muslim God neither acted all powerfully or God like He suspiciously spread his message along ethnic lines....where is the divine in all this garbage?

Is it more important than arguing over ideological differences?

2007-04-09 13:54:52 · 18 answers · asked by Anonymous

Close as I can see, religious means you follow an established system of faith, and spiritual means making up your own rules as you go along.

Is that right?

Am I missing something?
