I don't know what Bible you are reading, but that is way off course. The bible does not teach anything like that. We are to love all people (not physically), but that doesn't mean we need to express love for the stuff you mentioned & its also not up to all the perfect people to chastise others for it.
I just posted a question regarding membership to churches because I find that the term Religion is used far too loosely.
There are only 2 (in my research) that being Jewish & Gentile.
Any other teaching is just misguided & increasing as time goes on. That is why there are so many different affiliations at this time. You are either a Jew or a Gentile, how can you hate that...

Religion literally means to "re-tie". It can bind up the broken-hearted. It can also be responsible for asking people to "keep the peace" so as to integrate with the existing political line as touted by the powers-that-be. It's especially nasty when an oligarchy says that religion is terrible and takes over the moralising duties themselves. That's a dictatorship.

If people want to be reintegrated into an existing system without thinking too much, religion can do that. However, it can also inspire the broken-hearted and disillusioned to new heights.

Well you're right and wrong. I'm afraid it's man that inspires war, torture, bigotry, racism, sexism etc in the name of religion. You're shooting the messenger and missing the message.

"it ispires wars, torture, bigotry, racism, sexism, etc" (sic)

I am opposed also, however I'm not sure that it always *inspires* all of these problems or if just gives an excuse (in chapter and verse) to those who would commit such acts.

religion does not inspire war, bigotry, torture, racism or sexism. only people inspire those things because they dont know how to control their emotions...and people dont know how to disgree without feeling like they have to punch the other person in the face for saying something different. but religiondoesnt cause these things...because it IS possible to have religion without the things u listed....but people refuse to live with eachother unless they all agree. which will never happen.

Thats what I think also, I'm no atheist cause even that has to count as some sort of religion. I don't hate anybody's religion but I not a part of any religion, cause non of them make sense. And yeah almost all freakin wars are started by religion!

Actually, the evil people behind it do.

Stop blaming religion...If you're going to blame anything, blam the people that perform those things.

Have you met the 2.1 billion Christians living in the world? How can you label an entire religion?

'Religion' also happens to produce love, tolerance, unity, and freedom, if influenced by the right people.

The hypocrites aren't fooling God.

Sure it is. But without it, don't you see the chaos that would ensue? Look how society is today now that people are a lot less religious as compared to about 25 years ago. Religion is an institution that HELPS keep society and members of society in check. It's the radicals of religions that ruin it for everyone else.

Do not hate religion but love and know God for yourself. However to know God then religion is the gateway to him.

Your definitly not the only one but you shouldnt really classify it all without doing some research some religions dont do that stuff and if nothing works out just do whatever the hell you want and believe in whatever the hell you want, its your life.
