I hope they NEVER believe we came from primates.

Science isn't a belief system! You do know that, right?

As science gets more evidence, we PROVE that our view is the most likely, and Christians have come along, as have other peoples.

That they don't simply believe is a sign of their sanity!

I need things proven to me as well, though I'm not religious.

Why do you believe we came from primates?

Have you done any research? Or do you just believe what you've read? Have you checked the research for proof?

An amazing number of people just "believe" the world is round (I know it is due to experiments even I can do and have), rather than checking. They live in a belief system no better or worse than Christianity or anything else.

Even the belief that God does not exist is a belief system. Sane Atheists simply say, "You have not proven it to me, thus I choose not to believe. I don't know, but why believe something without proof? I might as well believe in the Bermuda Triangle!"

Sane Christians say, "This is what I believe because it feels right, and until it is proven completely wrong I will continue to believe in the majority of it and do my best to keep an open mind while not simply believing something because a scientist says it is so."

Science knows that facts are discovered to be false, that evolution is a theory that won't be fully proven until we can time-travel (though we have quite a collection of inductive evidence and such).

If you take this personally, why is so much of your self-image tied up in this? That's not healthy.

Because they were made with white dirt and not black soil. LOL, but seriously, ask them why something made from dirt, would even be allowed to enter the gates of heaven? You'll get some really stirred up feelings then! No monkeys are allowed to go to heaven, therefore, they think we couldn't have possibly derived from primates! What a bunch of sludge!

I asked something similar before.

The answer is the soul. In the bible God gives man a soul. The animals have no soul. I'm not sure if this is exactly put this way in the bible, or just interpretation of the words in the bible, but anyways.

If we evolved from animals we have no souls. If God made us we are special.

Someone even said that creation means man created death. Evolution means death created man. It seems to ring true I think.

It's the idea of us being better than our animal cousins. If we come from them we're no different really.

So those are the various ideas that people came to me with, seems interesting enough.

Personally I find neither insulting, they both have such fascinating aspects to them. Both are very intriguing.

Way to go Giovanni!
Nice to see you remembering your scriptures...
Just sad to hear you might have thrown the baby out
with the bath water as it were...
Not unlike you, I also was revolted
and repelled by false religions, teaching too many lies...
Nevertheless, I can't go to the other extreme
and deny even the existence of God Himself!
or blame Him for men's errors throughout the ages...
And yes most Christians are terribly stupid!
As they don't hesitate to claim to know the contents
of a book they seem to have never read...
Wow, will this make me popular!
Then again if popularity was what any truth seeker
really wanted, they would cease to be one, wouldn't they?
As for "primates", who's to say that
before Adam was created, God and his angels
didn't create myriads of prototypes
that were to lead to the perfect man Adam?
Why argue so much about things
that aren't even possible for men to know
100% of everything about such things?
Why not give your fellow human the benefit of the doubt?
and stop this nonsense of playing who's smarter
or dumber than the other???
Wouldn't we better off to argue about
why it is that we don't pronounce the "b" in dumber???

Which insults or disrespects their family more? Families set the foundation for how people think.
Next would be the culture the family comes from.
An individual has to break away and risk being disowned in some cultures for outwardly speaking something everyone else believes secretly. It's lonely when cut off from ones people, I hear.

People are primates. However, I think you are suggesting humans and apes have a common anscestor. I do not agree with this theory because I do not believe the evidence tells us that. There are too many missing links. If there was evidence of these intermediate species I would have no problem believing that God used this method.

i think it would be funny if we found out that we were made from like disguiting toe warts on god or like a peice of rat fieces and we had this crazy undenible proof that this is really and truly what happened no questions no debate. I can garuntee you that christians would still insist we were made from dirt. i mean cant we all just decide that it really doesnt matter at all were ever the hell we came from but were here now so deal with it. no proof like that could ever change the fact that why ever were here or how were here were still here.

Modern people have a tough time admitting that they came from such humble primordial soup. What if Adam and Eve were simply a pair of 'first humans'? Like all life, they evolved from the first microbes on the earth. God created that environment and life came from it. Science doesn't exclude God, it opens a door to Him.

It's more insulting to believe man came from something God didn't say he cam from. We are dirt. Have you ever seen a bag of ashes after a cremation? Mix it with water and you get mud. Mix a primate with water and you get a smelly animal.

Why is it insulting? God...GOD! made me! How great is that? He made me out of the dust of the earth! How amazing is that! Have you ever researched the chemicals in the human body? Same stuff as in the dirt! Wow, what a revelation!

You were fearfully and wonderfully made! Give God the glory!
