Yes, I think so! People like Mother Teresa and others did not ask a person's ideology as criteria on whether to help them or not! We should all strive to follow her example! Everyone should do their part and make it their goal to help. Even if it is only one person at a time! Just do what you can and the world will be left a little better than what you found it!

It might be more important, but it's a lot easier to argue over
ideological differences than it is to alleviate human suffering.
We would only end up arguing over how to alleviate human suffering and nothing would get done. A committee would
be formed to discuss the dilemma. They would in turn hire consultants to research the various methods and report their
findings back to the committee. The committee would then
discuss the results of the consultant's findings and decide
on which method is the most effective. However, they won't be able to agree on any one thing and will end up deadlocked. A new committee will be formed and the whole process will start over.
Meanwhile, human suffering goes on.

I think so David, in every area of our society. The less people can confront crime/suffering etc, the less will be done to alleviate the issues & the more those that cause the suffering are left to their own devices. It will take a communial effort to minimize crime etc not a 'leave it to the law' to deal with attitude.

I'm going to be different from others here and say NO.
Human suffering is/was/always. What is suffering? One may look at it a a blessing while another not. It's a state of mind and no one can take away someones state of mind no matter what they try and do. It's kinda of like trying to take away happiness. How can one do that?

Have you been given the plan to serve this purpose? Before you tackle the world, have you eased the suffering of your family, friends and neighbors. Long ago the effort of an individual initiated a chain reaction, follow His lead in service to the Father.

Yes it is very important for everybody to work together to fix the problems of the world being as no one man or woman can do it all by themselves. If everybody contributes to the cause then alot can be accomplished.

Obviously, it's more important than arguing, but doing good deeds, while it may make our situation better, will not take us home.

Yes. If we spent as much time obeying God, as we do analyzing his words, and bickering about their meaning, we would be in line with his intentions. Loving the other humans.
