For instance, it is spelled out in the Bible that there will be a resurrection of the righteous and the unrighteous. Acts 24 14-15 But the wicked will not be resurrected. How do we know this and how do we know who is wicked?

When i was born my family was catholic- at age 10 my parents left the catholic church, taking me with them. I am now 19 and am going back. While Im at college its easy to pratice my faith because my parents arn't there. I have to go home for 5 months durring the summer and dont know how I can keep it a secret from my parents.

They dislike catholics. On Easter we got into an argument when I tried to bring it up, so Im nto sure what to do now. Any suggestions?

I asked a minister once, and he said that's what he does when he sits on a thumb tack. I appreciated the joke, but resented that he didn't follow through with a serious answer. Please give a modern example, if possible, not some parable of the pharaseers, or what ever?

A little birdie in the sky,
Dropped some bird crap in my eye.
Now, I won't fret,
and I won't cry,
I'm just thankful cows don't fly
If the world can agree on this, maybe we can agree on other things as well.

READ THE FOLLOWING AND TELL ME IF YOU HONESTLY BELIEVE THERE IS NO POSSIBILITY OF A GOD

As you focus on each word in this sentence, your eyes swing back and forth 100 times a second, and every second the retina performs 10 billion computer-like calculations.
Incredibly, the eye, optic nerve and visual cortex are totally separate and distinct subsystems. Yet, together, they capture, deliver and interpret up to 1.5 million pulse messages a milli-second! It would take dozens of Cray supercomputers programmed perfectly and operating together flawlessly to even get close to performing this task.1
The eyes can perceive more than 1 million simultaneous visual impressions, are able to discriminate among nearly 8 million gradations of color, can distinguish about 500 different shades of gray, and take in more information than the world’s largest telescope.

If the word of god is perfect, how do you explain the contradictions and inaccuracies? If you say that man made mistakes in translating or added things to the bible that weren't supposed to be there, how do you know which books, verses, quotes, etc., to believe and which ones to disregard?

For those who say that the bible is the perfect word of god and does not contain errors, contradiction, or lies, here is a list of them that you can try to explain for yourself: http://www.evilbible.com/biblical%20cont...

You can compare these verses with the ones in your bible, and decide for yourself it the bible is perfect.

Then why do we worship him? Did he want us to worship him? If he did, isn't that kind of narcissistic? Having other people WORSHIP you? Hmm...

Matthew 12:31 Wherefore i say unto you, all manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.32 And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.

you can interpret the Bible for yourselves, because the Holy Spirit is guiding you, yet you all come up with different interpretations? Is that what the Holy Spirit intended- confusion?

I have read it dozens of times on...you can't be gay and Christian...and the classic you can't be a Christian murderer. What? Evidently, you cannot be intelligent and Christian either. I wonder if you can be a scientist and Christian? I'm going with no on that last one.

There is no God. No proof has ever been given to me to prove otherwise. The universe is there because of nature and science, not God. I can't believe some people admire Jesus, who nobody can prove exists either. I would refuse to admire Jesus even if he did live. I don't care if he died for me. That's his fault, not mine. I didn't make him die, so why should I admire him? I laugh everyday when I waste water, boast about how I'm better than everybody else, spend my money, swear like a sailor, get in fights, and insult poor people, because I know there is nobody to punish me. When I die I go in a coffin, that's it. So why not enjoy my life, living by no rules, while others are suffering over trying to impress some God who does not exist. And I'm making it my life's goal to show the world there is no God, because I hae religion so much.

being confronted by someone with different beliefs from you, and having to accept that they are not just the sum of their beliefs, but a living, breathing human being

Not all that different from yourself, and not necessarily as dumb, evil, ignorant, stubborn, close-minded, dogmatic, blind or inflexible as you wanted them to be.

In many other mammal societies, one male gets all the girls while the other males stay just outside the pride fighting off intruders and eating scraps.

It is a game worth winning, but probably not worth playing.

why can't you just not marry one? And leave well enough alone? Why do you feel you have the right to impose your beliefs and values on others who may not agree with you? Why do you feel that the government should take a political stance based on a religious sect? Do you not believe in the separation of church and state?
