why can't you just not marry one? And leave well enough alone? Why do you feel you have the right to impose your beliefs and values on others who may not agree with you? Why do you feel that the government should take a political stance based on a religious sect? Do you not believe in the separation of church and state?

I mean, why do you feel the government should conform to Christianity and your religions beliefs and use those beliefs and values to impose laws on people who may not share your common belief system. Doesn't that seem a bit self righteous to you? Like saying "We have all the answers to life, so follow our rules"?

I do not think Christian beliefs should be pushed on other people. You have the choice to believe in Christ or not.

I am not sure if I am for or against gay marriage. I have not made up my mind on the issue yet, but I can understand why some Christian are. Many Christians consider marriage to be a religious institution not a government sanctioned union. I do not think that churches should perform same sex marriages but I do not think that churches should decide whether the government can condone it.

The other issue I see with same sex marriage is that it could lead to the destruction of the family. That is not to say that gay parents cannot provide a loving home to a child. What I mean is that if the government says that same sex marriage is legitimate, they would have to acknowledge that bigamy would also be legitimate. If two people of the same sex can have a loving government sanctioned religion, how could the government deny that three people could have a loving relationship? If three people could have a loving relationship why not four or five? Why can't people marry animals or objects?

The line has to be drawn somewhere the most logical place to draw it is at the point of traditional marriage, but I think it could probably also be drawn at the point of saying marriage is between two people.
