1. Catholicism requires belief in God. As the Creed says, "We believe in one God, ..."
Be careful! Being vocal about the "bad" trappings of religions can actually make you a prophet who points out the "bad" things and points to the "good" way.
2. You can ask to be taken off the parish register.
But any records of things like Baptisms and Marriages are actually legal documents and cannot be altered or purged.
Catholics also believe that certain Sacraments like Baptism and Confirmation actually leave a permanent mark on your soul that cannot be removed.
3. Write a letter to your parish to remove your name from the register. You can even send a copy to the diocese if you want.
If you ever decide to return, you will be welcome.
With love in Christ.

I think a good confession will help you a lot. Think about when you stopped believing in God. Then talk to someone about it. Maybe you will still find your way home in time before you die. I hope you still make it to heaven someday. Never give up. Hell is too awful a place to go and heaven is an eternity too like hell. So choose eternal flames? or eternal bliss? You are far too intelligent not to get the better answer right? Don't let the devil deceive you. He has you too confused already. Go back, there is still time God loves you. I guess He inspired you to write this question so your Catholic brothers and sisters can still try to save you. Think about it or pray if you still remember how. Good luck. Please give it a try. Sometimes a grave sin sets you on the wrong route but a sincere "I am sorry Dad or Father, God or Jesus " will open heaven's gates to you again. God bless.

Dude, you're not Catholic. Anyone can go through a ritual (such as your "Confirmation") and it can mean nothing. If you are so sure God doesn't exist, it shouldn't matter to you that your name is in some church registry somewhere. If God doesn't exist, it shouldn't matter to you that you've taken communion so many times in a such a grave state of mortal sin. If it means nothing, why make a big deal out of it?
Please make sure that you really believe what you are saying, instead of just wanting to be some sort of rebel. Being a rebel these days doesn't mean what it used to. The type of person we think of as a "rebel" is only doing what everyone else does these days...making him nothing more than a crowd-follower.

You said something interesting, "im positive no god exists".
Really, how do you know that?
The real debate has never been about whether or not God exists. It's been about the differences in what people believe is the best way to serve Him.
If you really want to be counted amongst those who truly do not believe in God, you are in the company of a putrid minority of human beings.
You know what's interesting...People who don't believe are always requesting from those that do some rock-solid piece of unquestionable evidence of God's existance.
Here, I am the skeptic. I am skeptic of the disbelief in God. What rock-solid piece of unquestionable evidence do you possess that proves God does not exist? I would very much like to see it.

Since the Catholics state, at every mass, "I believe in God. . ." then I guess you couldn't call yourself a Catholic if you don'g believe in God. (reference to the Nicene Creed)
As for removing your name from the books? Are you talking about the Baptism, Confirmation entries? If so, then most likely not, those are Church records and should not be altared in that manner.
On a personal note, you shouldn't have to prove anything to any one other than yourself.

I don't know what you mean by having your name stricken from the books.
You will always remains on the baptismal, first communion and Confirmation records of the parish where those things took place. Those records are sent to the dioscesan office and are usually filmed. You can't have your name removed.
You can have your name removed as a member of a parish

Being Catholic or any religion for that matter is not just going to church and taking communion, its beliving in God and living for Jesus. Acting like your Catholic or playing along wont fool God. Myself being Catholic and going to church 2x a week and actually beliving and following God and not just pretending it, I know that people and God see me as a follower. And about you wanting to still be Catholic even though you don't belive in God dosn't make scence.

when you don't believe in God, you're definitely not a catholic because a catholic is under the teachings of Christ and called as the religion of Christianity, and by doing so, you definitely violate the first requirement and law of |God
"Love your God above all"
i'm sorry but what book are you talking about? is it the book of your church or the book from heaven?

1. You cannot be a Catholic AND an atheist.
2. There is no need to have anything stricken from any books.
3. See 2.

When you were baptized, you received a character mark on your soul that makes you a Christian forever.
Apostacy is simply a stage you're going through.
When your time comes, you'll quickly discover a number of good reasons to reaffirm your Catholic faith.
Trust me. I've seen this many times before.
