People who believe in God surely don't believe he is some old man with a white beard.

So for those believers out there, what form do you think God takes?

Is he just a black mass of all knowing, all seeing power, or is he just an invisible presence? Is he in another dimension, not tied down by the laws of the universe?

What are your beliefs on this matter?

I've lived in London my whole life and apart from the odd carol singer, leaflet and JW knocking at my door, don't hear much from them.

In Hinduism, one of the aim's of man is to free himself from the cycle and achieve the level of the gods. Hinduism, like ALL other religions aspires to take man to god, and to make man a part of god. Hinduism teaches that man should constantly purify himself, develop virtue, goodness and dignity with a sense of godliness. Even the religions of India's abrahamic people (christians, jews and moslems) teach values such as hard work, discipline, charity, masculinity, love, the discrimination between right and work, high standards and values, morals, and the idea that manliness is next to godliness.

Homosexuality is antithetical to these tenets in every way. Whereas ALL religions aspire to embody god in man, gayness aspires to destroy virtue and reduce man to the lowest of the low - the gutter and sewage levels. It is NOT natural. It is a disorder and a many have termed it a disease.

It can destroy a civilisation (like Romans and Greeks) if it becomes prevalent.

St. Paul and St. Peter were Jewish and not Christian?! The Christians were not persecuted in Israel? The Christians were not apostates?

I live in a country where gay marriage is legal and common and has been since 2001. Recently we got a new cabinet, and one of the members of the cabinet is a party that very much profiles itself as a Christian party. Now a discussion has burst loose over so called "refusal civil servants", civil servants who refuse to marry gays and call upon the moral problems it would cause them, usually because of the fact that their religion prohibits, frowns upon or otherwise judges active homosexuality as bad.
Now there are roughly two sides: the people who say that a civil servant is a servant of the law and should therefore marry anyone as long as it is not against the law for those persons to marry, and the people who say that everybody is entitled to his or her own ideas about morality and homosexuality and no civil servant should be "forced" to conduct marriages against their own believes.
What do you think? (any other opinions are welcome too, of course)

I'm just wondering why a church would tell people to have so many children, even when they're unprepared for them financially. I'm also wondering how ethical it is, seeing as I have relatives on state welfare and medicaid who have had children before they were financially ready because they were counselled to do so by their leaders. If the LDS church tells people to have babies before their ready, shouldn't the LDS church pay for their medication bills and groceries instead of making tax payers do it?

Did Jesus claim, according to those who knew Him, to be the Son of God? If so, was Jesus lying, were they lying, or was Jesus telling the truth? If Jesus was lying, then He could not have been a prophet. Prophets of God do not lie. If His disciples were lying, what reasons did they have to lie? What did they gain?

I know these are a lot of questions, but I'm just wondering what peoples' take on this is. And please, no "it's all a fairy tale" type of answers! There is plenty of evidence outside of the Bible that suggests that a man named Jesus did live, and He did have disciples.
Mainly, this question is for Muslims to consider, but I wouldn't mind hearing from Christians as well.

I will most likely be adding details as I receive answers, so please be sure to check back in.

Note: I am an environmentalist (informally), and I came up with this joke.

"You see, I love the Romans. They were a great republic and then an empire. However, there is one thing that I hate about them. When they crucified Jesus, why did they cut down an entire tree?"

Whatever your answer is must be based on what God desire for our lives. We are Gods TV stations, actually over 15 000 of them! God knew in a world of over six billion souls, one Temple would never cover the world. He allowed man to dicover radio, TV, satellite and the Inernet in order to give us His Temples 0 the tools to literally cover the world with the knowledge of a god who gave His only Son to save all who will simply believe in His Name. Be an ambassador for Christ and speak out for those who cannot speak for themselves.
