I'm ashamed of all of us, as I sense we are no longer fighting the good fight. Are we now so jaded that we can't even be bothered to correct the use of the capital A for atheist, or even the much more drastic "athiest" delusion?

Oh don't think I'm trying to let myself off the hook here, I'm just as much a sinner as anyone else. I've let at least two go tonight alone.

But are we on a slippery slope here? First it's the little things, but how long before we stop pointing out that atheists can be very spiritual and have a keen interest in religion, or that "theory" has a specific meaning in scientific nomenclature which doesn't necessarily mean it isn't accepted as "fact"?

You know they're just trying to wear us down, but we must be strong!

Did you realize christianity has evolved?

While early christian church leaders used the threat of death to silence people like Galileo, now they have been foced to adapt and practice "young earth science" in order to try to sustain belief.

Isn't that interesting?

The Bible is vague, but fundamentalists will be the first to tell you what the Bible says...and will leave no room for any other interpretation or belief....If they do not think there can be another interpretation...aren't they saying that they are the ultimate authority...thereby, they are saying that they are God?

In Sodom & Gomorrah ---- If the city was that wicked with lust, surely there were some pregnant women in the city.

Or had the fetuses already sinned?

The Bible said that NO righteous people (other than Lot) existed in the city, either fetuses had sinned, or God doesn't consider fetuses "people". One or the other.

This logic is completely ignored when people claim that Christians commit atrocities. If it doesn't walk like Jesus, doesn't talk like Jesus, but calls itself a Christian, it's not a Christian, just a hypocrite pretending to be one. True Christians follow Jesus. I hope you recognize that.

OK, if your an atheist, go ahead and post that same old worn out comment, " none, because there is no God!" Get it out of the way. This question is for people who believe in God. If you don't, why give an answer?

I know the Catholic church has given a name to the vision of God that the blessed will see in heaven. They call it the "Beatific Vision".
Anyway I am not Catholic, but still they just gave a name to it.

When you are all alone with God in prayer, and reflect on his goodness, you can't help but wonder what it will be like to see him as he is. I know we cannot really answer this, it is beyond our finite minds. But, what do you personally think about when you think about that verse " we shall see him as he is" ?

1000's of Christians are being murdered by Muslims everyday - Why aren't their Christian Brothers helping - but instead Christian nations are trying to liberate a country with a majority of Muslims? Is it because they are African? Is it because there is no oil there? If this was happening in Europe - would you have the same apathetic attitude for them that you have for your Christian brothers and sisters in Sudan?

By The Way -
I love all my brothers and sisters - no matter what religion they are or are not. - This question is specifically for Christians.

Will they not answer for their deeds?

They claim to be the ultimate authority on scripture...when in reality, God is the only ultimate authority...so, they are calling themselves God.

They are arrogant and prideful.

They have turned so many good people away from the Christian faith with their hateful rhetoric.

Will God not hold them responsible for other's souls whom they have alienated and pushed out the doors of the church?

What will they say when they stand before God, and he says, why should I let you into my heaven?...Will they say, I was mean and hateful and pounded people over the head with the Bible...I told them to believe as I did...of course, I did this all in your name...to show them Christ's love.

...when (and if) they ask "What exactly does chocolate bunnies, dyed eggs and marshmallow peeps have to do with Christ dying for our sins?"

Do you tell them the truth?(ie. "Christians stole these symbols of fertility from Pagans many years ago to help aide Christianity in making more converts, and they are all really just representations of the pagan Goddess Oestra.")

Do you tell them a half truth? ("Its a tradition!!")

Or, do you simply ignore thier desire for truth and information and say "Shut up and eat your chocolate!"??

Im really curious.....

I believe in God and the teachings of Jesus Christ but also believe man is fallible unlike God and has twisted religion to fit into what he wants not what God wants. I believe faith comes from God, religion comes from man.So many wars have been fought in the name of God but does God truly want us to murder and steal from our fellow man and pretend it is in His name when it is just the orders of mere men who call themselves kings and leaders. I will believe in God no matter what is taken from me and will not take from others to champion that belief. So is it right to use His name in wars- like say the Crusades? While we cannot change the past, we can be more honest with it and our future.
