Unbelievably, my kids and I have actually discussed such a thing-as if it's ever going to happen.

My oldest boy, when he was working at the local hospital, said that he'd lock the door to the maintenance area so that no one else could get through. He'd have sole access to the vending machines so the food would last a little longer, and he could stand out on the roof to watch the activity going on below.

My youngest 2 boys said that if they were slow zombies, they'd go out in the yard and try to kill them, but if they were fast then forget it.

They've talked about how we'd be in good shape-we live on the second floor and have only one door we'd need to secure, and we have an ample supply of food and water.

Their main concern was how to do laundry. After awhile, we'd start to stink because the washer and dryer are located in the garage.

I haven't a clue why we ever sat around and discussed this in the first place. Apparently, I let the boys watch too many George Romero movies. Funny thing is, I've found that their friends have talked about the very same scenario coming true.

Oddly enough, i have been thinking about this exact same thing for the last few days.

1. i would pray that it would be while im in school, or right after.

2. i would look for the first source of a sewer line.

3. I would try to get as many people in the school as possible, and if anyone has been bitten they would be quarantined to see if it is spread like an infection.

4. put the school in lockdown.

5. i would get a round of kids (after the school is getting low on food and water) and head to the sewers, because mostly everything is connected by sewers, i would go to, in this order, a supermarket, a hardware store, a pharmacy, and then a ammunitions store.

6. after the shopping trip, which we use a system of trolleys to get the supplys back to the school by sewers, i would then look for survivors.

7. if things start getting chaotic, get the artillery.

8. if #3 proves to be contagious, i would immediately dispose of them.

9. if their is anyu kind of Law enforcement, they would be forced to pay miserably, or they would be allowed to protect the school while we sleep.

10. use the PA and TV system to show a building patern of the school and color code each entrance to danger.
green=safe
yellow=cautious
red=breached, need immediate zombie control and plywood repairs.

11. repeat 3,5,6, and 7 daily, and steal refridgerators when possible.

yes, i have thought about this as thourough as i can. And to think im only 16 years old, and came up with this great strategy.

I believe I'd grab an axe and start hacking away. I believe it'd be my duty to help quell the zombie uprising.

As I do not *have* an axe, I would probably settle for a mattock which I do have. And perhaps a shovel. Got a couple of them.

Edit: Think, Sam, think! I suspect it would be pointless to roam aimlessly with my pick and shovels so I think I would drive up to Colma (city of the dead, I think they call it) - there's bound to be some good whack-a-zombie action up there. Barring that (like if the roads are blocked) I'd maybe hole up in the house - but a ranch house with those single pane windows...not gonna be much protection. Boy I hope them things are as stupid as they look.

I'd get a case of beer and go home, invite some friends over, lock my doors and put on the DVD from the original "Night of the Living Dead" Oh, make sure my guns are loaded just in case.

Isn't that what happens on Easter? Jesus becomes one of the un-dead?

I would kill and find help and burn the dead bodies so they won't infect anyone else.
