...of their soul die every time they click on the "SUBMIT" button? (For those of you who don't believe in souls, please substitute "dignity stripped away.")

I like to make up for this by using EFTPOS at every opportunity - I always get a little thrill when the machine tells me I'm "Approved".

The number of 9/11 Nut-jobs, Kooks, and Wing-Nuts are increasing at an alarming rate.

Why do the bush administration tolerate these “outrageous conspiracy theories” concerning the events of 9/11, malicious lies that attempt to shift the blame away from the terrorists themselves away from the guilty? Making an example of a “Kook” such as David Ray Griffin in a court of law would certainly stem the flood, don’t you think?

This is what Jesus answered when his disciples asked what would be a sign of the second coming and the end of the age

Mat 24:6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see
that ye be not troubled: for all [these things] must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
Mat 24:7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
Mat 24:8 All these [are] the beginning of sorrows.
Mat 24:9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.
Mat 24:10 And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. "

A couple things to think about before ansewring this question :
The bible says that homosexuality is immoral am i right? Thats why most people oppose it correct? Well doesnt the bible also say that divorce is immoral and it was not condoned in biblical times. Also doesn't the bible also support slavery which is illegal now. Finally in biblical times wasnt poligamy very popular if any one even had the thought of having more than one wife now they would be a sick freak right? if those things have been out lawed or accepted what is wrong with homosexuality?

why do ppl escpecially in american society beleive that everything the bible says is true (in the christian religion) the bible is mostly fiction. These are stories to help people with problems or teach us how we should live our lives its examples to live by. now im not saying that there is no god but im saying modern religion has changed so much espically the meaning. I believe the churches are to blame. They spend so much time arguing about homosexuals and bortions etc and could send all that time or money on fighting world hunger or somehing. I believe there is something greater and i believe in god but the bible has been changed and shaped into what man believe. I believe that relgion and scince go hand in hand. The religion is the aspect of life and the morals and stories and the way we should live our lives, and science answers the hard questions to life. People that beleive in the flood for example there would be scinetif evidence of the flooding of the world but there is not.

My grandmother is about to turn 80 years old and I want to have a big celebration for her. She's been very depressed and doesn't get to do many things. One of her favorite things is spending time with her beloved sister who happens to be a Jehovah Witness. I am told she does not celebrate birthdays.

Is it okay to invite her? Will her religion prevent her from attending? If so, are there any exceptions? Could she come to town during this time, but simply not attend the party? Maybe I could make arrangements for her to spend that day doing something else, but she could visit with my grandmother in the evening.

I know my grandmother would love to see her, but wouldn't want her to attend if it is against her beliefs, not that she would anyway. She is very devoted to her religion.

Any advice? Thank you.

Article on CNN today discussing "neurotheology" and how the brain evolved to believe in god. Among the quotes, "Religion is a byproduct of many different evolutionary functions that organized our brains for day-to-day activity."

The whole article is here: http://www.cnn.com/2007/HEALTH/04/04/neurotheology/index.html

If you're going to take the "Goddidit" stance at least bother to take the 3 minutes it would take you to read the article.

The more material things we have the more we want and the greedier we become . Why do people depend on material things for happiness ? We should be donating our money to charity or volunteering to serve other people instead of buying things we don't need ! Material things aren't the most important things in life . We should let go of everything that we possess, so that by being free of material things, we can own all things . As long as we are tied to the things of this world we will never be truly humble because the things of this world will keep us busy tending to them .

I wrote on an answer, "The bible is a lie". That was my total answer. Yep, it was violated. I appealed over 2 months ago TWICE. No reply.

Now I know that many of you would disagree vehemently with me on that statement. Great. This is an open forum and you have that right.

So, how many have been violated for disagreeing?

A conservative estimate is that there are 7.5 million species of animal on earth. I challenge anyone who thinks Genesis is even remotely plausible to sit down and come up with even one million different but coherent names.

Feel free to e-mail me the list.

Take somethign such as money for instance and give it and tell God you want to prove him in your life and see what he does for you. Then if nothing happens, the truth will be made known to you cause if God is real and ready to bless you will he not answer you? In the bible it says to prove me now sayeth the Lord with your tithes and offerings and see if I will not open the windows of heaven and pour you out a blessing that there will be not enough room to hold it! Malachi 3:10 if you need the reference. but how many of you will prove him? Are some afradi to find out that he is real, for if he is then the bible just became one of the scariest truths for those who dont believe. How many will prove this?

You ever notice when the asker chooses a "Best Answer" , he or she chooses the answer they really want to hear ?
It's almost like they already had the answer in mind that they wanted, and they're just wanting for someone else to say want they think. I guess it's human nature, but do some people not even consider to think about other possibilities ?

Like this misguided soul:

" YES he was in Christ, in His Name and if you are born again you are in Christ and speaking God's words. You have the mind of Christ. The love of God has been shed abroad in your heart. The word is nigh you in your mouth and on your lips. The law is written on your heart and inscribed on your mind and the Holy Ghost has been difused throughout your soul. You are wall to wall Holy Ghost. You speak His words at all times but do you speak them in faith or fear. "

Ok, nothing that is said here will ever surprise me again, I have seen it all now!

NOT!

I am a Christian. And have even asked my parents this question. If adam and eve were the first living things, where did the dinosaurs and the previous life come in? The really bad conflict I have, is that dinosaur remains have been found. So it shows that dinosaurs were real. I certainly know, that dinosaurs were not of the period of the humans. Humans came in the period after the dinosaurs. So dinosaurs and humans have no relationship. But if they have proof of both things, like I said, where did dinosaurs come in with life? How did Adam and Eve, marked with sin, yet civilized, create such monsters as the cavemen, who have made paintings in caves? It might be confusing, but I am also confused.
