I worship Cats. Every Cat is a manifestation of Bast, or Bastet, the Ancient Egyptian Deity who is the Protector of all Things Feline.

You don't have to keep a Cat to be a Believer, but it helps. What is necessary though is a well-disposed and benevolent attitude to Cats, in whatever form you may encounter them.

The benefits of keeping a Cat are the companionship of a faithful and affectionate pet, whose presence and attention is believed by many to relieve depression, as well as being a cure for loneliness among the housebound.

The more general benefits are that Cats everywhere will warm to you and everywhere you go you will be sought out for company by these beautiful and much-misunderstood creatures.

There is no conflict with other religions and you can quite happily be a Cat Worshipper and follow some other faith as well (including even Dog Worship, if the Cat in your life is prepared to tolerate Canine company, which some do).

It may not be the best religion for everyone - I would make no such claim, especially since beyond seeking shelter, sustenance and affection the Cat makes few demands on this world - but it is certainly the best for me.

I will not presume what the Cat thinks but as she has stuck around for many years I guess I must be doing something right.

Let me say this one more time; Jehovah's Witnesses do NOT try to convert anyone. We simply provide the information from the Bible of the impending destruction of the world's religions and then it's governments. Any who are in anyway associated with either, face destruction, also. I have grown children and grandchildren who need this information, too. I talk about God's promises with them, just as I would anyone else. I don't argue with them about these things, just as I wouldn't argue with any of you, because YOU have to make your own choice whether to serve Jehovah or not. We also tell people we talk to about how they will benefit from worshiping Jehovah God. Maybe I can illustrate my point this way: Say I live in your neighborhood, and one day, I noticed what appears to be brake fluid under your vehicle. I knock on your door and tell you about it. You tell me you just had your car serviced and you don't believe there is anything seriously wrong with it. The next day, I knock again, and you tell me you trust your mechanic did a through check when he serviced the car and I shouldn't worry, and if I bother you again, you're going to get angry. Finally, I give up and don't bother you again. Two days later, You have a serious accident, while driving with your family to the mall. Who's to blame? Me, because I didn't try harder to force you to get your car checked out, your mechanic because he should have caught the problem, or you, because you ignored not only the warning, but the clear evidence that there was a problem? We supply people with everything they need to make an informed choice. We also give them clear evidence that what we say is true, as it comes from God's Word. This evidence also exposes the world's religions for what they really are, false teachers. Is not your life, and that of your family, important enough to at least investigate what we have to say? Edit: Surprise, surprise! There are those here who actually take the word sell, literally! You CAN 'sell' yourself, and never get a dime. Just as you can 'sell' your beliefs, and still retain them. Come on people, get a clue!

I am LDS (Mormon). I follow the teachings of Jesus Christ, and I believe that we can all be forgiven of our sins. My works, nor any facts about my beliefs can convince you of their truth. Yet I do believe that by the power of the Holy Ghost we can know the truth of all things. This is how I have gained a firm testimony of my religion, even though my life has been bombarded with hardships lately, and I could make it so much easier by denying my religion. I truly have felt the Holy Ghost, and this is the only power by which we may know the truth for a certainty. I encourage you to study and religion that you are interested in, and to pray to God to help you to feel the truthfulness of it. All religions have truth, the trick is to find out which one has it all.

Christians are the best. Loads of people say that devoting yourself to Christ means you will have no fun in life. Wrong. Reading the Bible is fun because of all the great and true stories. Reading about the miracles that Jesus performed is amazing. They are also real because the Romans recorded such things as fact in ancient times. Christianity is the best religion b/c you will have eternal life after you die. Christians rule. So does Jesus Christ. Happy Resurrection Day!

I agree with the first answer, though I will give you the benefit of the doubt and not take your question as an insult. You see, someone who wants to come to God does not need selling to, they only desire to hear the truth, and you didn't say that.

SO!

IF
there is one god, then it's likely that that God has likes and dislikes. His creations have likes and dislikes, so why not Him?

IF
God has likes and dislikes, He may have a determined direction that we must go in order to be blessed by Him. The Bible claims that we have a separator from Him; sin, and since we cannot see Him, there's evidence that it's true that we are separated.

The one who the Bible says bridged that separation is Jesus Christ. We can gain access to God because of what God provided, the forgiveness of that sin I mentioned before.

What Christianity does is claim that we can have peace with God if we accept His Son, and IF we accept His child, we are accepted as His children.

So the benefits that I've covered here is peace with God, acceptance as His children, and having that gap between us and God repaired.

If that ain't enough for you, then there are many promises that God has made to us, if we are counted as His children.

Please IM or E-mail me if you want more. May God be your peace.

I'm not going to stuff my religion in your face like a used car salesman. Instead, I will tell you my experiences in the United Methodist Church. I have been going there since I was 3. I was never baptised until I decided to be at the age of 13. At, 14, I learned to play guitar and was invited to play in the song team. At 15, our youth group went to Mexico to fix up an old church in a small town. Each year my faith grows within this church. It has a community oriented atmosphere. Whenever one dies, or is born, the congregation comes together as one. Now I am 16, and my faith is the strongest it has ever been. I thank the people within the United Methodist Church for that.

I shop around, my faith is ever evolving, you asked what I believe so I will try to tell you but part of it is that it is just personal. It is in me, it is mine. You can have some if you like, I hope you let me have some of yours, I am genuinely interested. There is no right and wrong belief other than the belief that there is.
This is my church (very briefly)
Peace - and for today - blessed be.

Okay, using "Sell" in it's loosest interpretation.
Polygonism

The "Church" of the giant reptile (come and join the raptor)

It's pretty straightforward. It's the faith for people who couldn't be bothered belonging to a faith, or particularly defining their "beliefs".

There's nothing to pay, nowhere to meet, no rules, no commandments.

Every so often there's a piece of homespun wisdom that bears a striking resemblance to common sense (tinted with cynicism, and sarcasm).

You want to "join"? Yeah, fine, whatever.

Polygonists don't go looking for converts. Not that they actively discourage them, I mean, they really couldn't be bothered, either way.

If this sounds like the kind of loose affiliation you'd like to adopt as a religion, well, that's nice.

I'd make more of an effort, but, it's a long weekend, and I just can't be bothered. No offence.

one thing about Christianity.... it is free.... Jesus died on the cross to offer us a gift... salvation. it is free... it is yours for the asking... the only requirement is that you turn from self and turn to Jesus. With Jesus in my life, I have peace, contentment, and no 'requirements' i have to meet other than striving to be like Him to others... helping, giving, sharing.... removing the sin in my life was a struggle at times, and sometimes I still mess up, but He is there waiting for me to come to Him and let him take those things away.

The Joy I feel each day is amazing. even in times of sorrow, I can find Joy and comfort thru Christ. Joy doesnt = happiness. we arent promised 'all happy' lives or easy ones... but we are promised strength to endure the life we are living and wisdom thru the Holy Spirit on how to handle things.

I am forever thankful for the sacrifice Jesus paid for me on that cross.... and I pray that someday I can help others find Him.
