Opus Dei, formally known as The Prelate of the Holy Cross and Opus Dei, is an organisation of the Catholic Church that emphasises the Catholic belief that everyone is called to become a saint and that ordinary life is a path to sanctity.[The great majority of its approximately 87,000 members are lay people. Opus Dei is Latin for "Work of God", and the organisation is sometimes known simply as "the Work".

i am not a fan of the da vinci code, thought it was a dreadful book, yet, it got me interested in finding out more about opus dei - i did a lot of research and i found them to be a little sinister. And i would really like to know what their TRUE agenda is.

From what I have heard abouy Opus Dei is that it is a borderline Catholic cult.

Dan Brown paints a very negative picture of them, and most people think of them as crazies. However, Dan Brown writes fiction. Yes, DaVinci Code is fiction. Actually, they are probably simply a very sincere sect of the Catholic church.

It's their inalienable right to pursue happiness in any way they see fit, so long as they break no laws and do not try to compel others to believe as they do. They have never bothered me, so I have no reason to interfere with them.
