God has predestined us to become His children and He knows the future. He also gave us free will to make our own choices, but He will not give up fighting for all humanity to come to Him.

You missed out the third alternative which is neither.

Perhaps the chance and 'whim' of the universe pulls us to and fro, just like a leaf in the wind? Sometimes it concords with our wishes and so it seems like choice. At other times it doesn't and so it feels like 'destiny'?

I think it depends upon our mindset as to whether we then feel that life to be a beneficence or a curse.

Just an idea. Oh, and since that possibly didn't answer your question I'd go for 'choice'. Thanks.

I'm a Christian who is going to offer you an answer that may surprise you:

I think they're our choice. I think that in life, God grants us free will to do what we choose. There are right choices, and there are wrong choices. There may be more than one right choice. There may be a "best choice." But I think that if you choose wisely, you can choose more than one thing and still have it be blessed by God. Certainly, we as Christians want to turn to the Word of God and see what it has to say about our choices and the way we make them, but if you believe Romans 8:28, then you have to believe that whatever choice you make, if you commit your decision to the Lord, you will be blessed.

I don't think it's necessarily pre-ordained that "you will get THIS particular job" or "you will marry THIS particular person." I think those are choices your Heavenly Father allows you to make, and His will will be done regardless of the choices you make.
