People who believe in God surely don't believe he is some old man with a white beard.

So for those believers out there, what form do you think God takes?

Is he just a black mass of all knowing, all seeing power, or is he just an invisible presence? Is he in another dimension, not tied down by the laws of the universe?

What are your beliefs on this matter?

The illusion in our minds.

I think this is one of the key issues to the argument regarding god's existence. We often see people on here say "you can't prove god doesn't exist". That's true, but only because nobody ever puts forth any testable parameters or characteristics about god. If you said "god is 6 feet tall and lives in that cave over there" then we could just walk over there and see whether or not god was there.
But part of the definitions that most people give is "god is unknowable". Then, they'll turn around and say "now prove there is no god".
How can you do that? You've just told me it's unknowable.
And so 'round and round it goes....

God is the same form as you and I. We are created in His image. I don't know if he has a white beard or not but I do know he created me. My question for you is why do you care what he looks like. If you are a true believer in the Almighty, and this goes for everyone that asks these questions, then why do you constantly try to rationalize and justify his existance? Try putting your faith in what your heart tells you and not listening to the opinions of people who really don't care what you think.

And to the others who say know one has seen him...tell that to Stephen..who after being stoned looked up and saw Jesus standing on the right hand of God. Acts 7:55-56

We as people have to put a picture of how God looks as it help us to relate to him.

The whole universe is a part of God, so God is in everything that we see. That is why in the Bible it says do unto others as you would have done unto you.
I am not say that we are God mind, as that is a different discussion, just that we are God creations so we should reflect God.
If we are to treat everyone the same as we would expect to be treated, then everyone on this planet would have everything that they need, and we would not have people living in poverty.
So why don't you let others see God in you, through your daily actions?
If every reader was to do that this world would change for the better!

I'm agnostic.

My best guess as to what a god would be like would be a collection of spiritual energy that has been massed over time until it has developed a central consciousness.

The bible declares that God is a spirit...meaning He is invisible...John 4:24.. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

People need to understand the image of God in us ...since God created us in his image...The Lord showed me a way to understand ...He said if you look in a mirror..you see 1 person (yourself)..but it takes 3 parts to make you that 1 person...
Body Soul and Spirit...That is the image of the invisible God,...he is 1 God in 3 persons and because He is God he can allow those person to manifest themselves but ...simply he is 1 God....in 3 persons ...like we are 1 person with 3 parts....it is when people cannot understand this ...that they change the image of the invisible God into something they can see ...feel and touch...Romans says 1:21-23...

Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
22. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
23. And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things....believe the bible and trust that God is not a man that he should lie...God bless

I never think of him as a form; you think with limited comprehension of GOD ; he is the essence of everything good in life ; he is the power, he is in every fiber of everything that he created , in the very basic atom of every every thing; he is the warmth of the sun on your face, he is the song of bird in flight; he is the ocean wave hitting the shore; he is the overflowing feeling in your heart; he is he is he is; only upon death and judgment will he make himself known to you perhaps in the manner of your choosing or his; his ultimate goal is you don't create something and not wish it well and good; like children , you have them, want them to do well, prosper , have a great life etc; the same for GOD; he is in each and every person , in the wind that hits your face ; the snowflake that falls from the sky ; all his works, all his ideas , all his creation and much much more than we as humans can ever imagine ; it is endless ....

God does exist. He is Spirit, who dwells in the hearts of every believer, He was man, when Jesus Christ walked the earth, He is everywhere at all times.

I believe He is a presence in Heaven, permeating everything, but at the same time, He is here with us through His Holy Spirit.

I feel His presence every day.

John 4:24 says that "God is a spirit". That means that he is unseen to human eyes.
“Seeing, therefore, that we are the progeny of God, we ought not to imagine that the Divine Being is like gold or silver or stone, like something sculptured by the art and contrivance of man. 30 True, God has overlooked the times of such ignorance, yet now he is telling mankind that they should all everywhere repent. Man was created in God's image.

For what elements he used (besides dust), because He speaks and it is done.

Psalms 33:8 Let all the earth fear the LORD: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him.
33:9 For HE SPAKE, and it was [done]; he commanded, and it stood fast.
33:10 The LORD bringeth the counsel of the heathen to nought: he maketh the devices of the people of none effect.
33:11 The counsel of the LORD standeth for ever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations.
33:12 Blessed [is] the nation whose God [is] the LORD; [and] the people [whom] he hath chosen for his own inheritance.

One of the most dangerous things we as believers can do is imagine God as human or taking human form becasue it devalues God. God is an infinite being of immessurable power. God is everything and everyone. God is kind, God is just, God is loving. God is forgiving. God is. Think of those things when you think of God not what shape does he take.
