Don't get me wrong, there are Islamic extremists and it's currently in vogue for them to be in the headlines (after all, we needed a new bogeyman to justify the ludicrous expense on the military and the abrogation of human rights and freedoms), however over the period 1990 to 2006 terrorism accounted for about 2,500 deaths per year. It was about 1,250 until we steamed into Iraq uninvited so I guess our Christian leaders are responsible for a doubling of the figures.

That's 1,250 total deaths a year worldwide. This compared to, say, the 20,000 to 30,000 who die of gun death in America alone.

Kinda tiny in comparison, isn't it?

So here we have a tiny problem being magnified by politicians which results in the vilification of a particular religion which, given the number of people slaughtered during the Crusades, Cathar heresy and Inquisition alone, is kind of laughable.

So why do people the hype? Is it just stupidity or what?

why are most wars started because of religion? What about the Christian religion? We have been killed because we are Christians but are we guilty when defending ourselves?

specially if you are white and in the south........If you believe that all human beings came from Adam and Eve, why do you condone interracial marriage between blacks and whites?
If you mention Bible ,in the old testament, it refered all other races black or white apart from the Jews as Gentiles. By the way whites are not Jews, neither are Jews whites. So if you stick to that it just meant a Jew not to marry a non believer. actually God was concerned about their belief and not color. Moses and Joseph for sure have married outside their race.
So why do you condone or think it is wrong for a black and white to marry?
(most issues arise when it comes to blacks, and not to other ethnic groups)
I am asking on the basis of both the white and black being christians.
please honest answer.
thanks

I have seen the president of your church in the past making church changing "revelations" (Giving blacks the priesthood, Change the temple ceremony). Not one of these "important" changes are added to your cannon. But a statement of someone named Oliver Granger being held in fond remembrance is included.. Who was this guy, can you honestly say that you, or the church as a whole for that matter remembers him at all let alone fondly.. Is that more important to the church than the more recent changes, unless of course your cannon is indeed closed. If it is then you don't need a prophet...

You have to have faith and truely believe in God, but why disregard God and religion in general, it is the ultimate sin and result in an unpleasent afterlife, why risk eternity?

(In theory) God (God=any deity) is testing us, and he's testing are ability to be open, accepting, and live above the influence of his own man. One example is homosexuality, a test not to covert to heterosexuality but to see if our society can accept and live above influence of his own word. Another is sexual urges, a test of responsibility, and how responsible are society is and us ourselves are.

So, are we failing or passing this test?

Yet, they still don't go to work on Christian holy days and take the wages for that day? They like the advantages of Christian influence but are very vocal when it comes to acceptance. Why is that?

I am very confused about the nature of faith. Isn’t faith in god or religion a personal thing? Faith is supposed to be internalized right? I don’t understand why most people feel threatened when there faith is not represented as strongly as they would like. It seems like the more people that share a similar faith the more faithful they become. Isn't that a form of evidence or validation? I thought faith was supposed to be devoid of evidence and validation.

Look the air we breathe and water, food, including our body. Isn't it obviously we here because God/Nature is letting us borrow life. So Obviously everything you borrowed should be used to the full extent but with care ofcourse. So who agrees that life is about living to the Fullest and take risks (smart risks of course)?

Will first in your life, before your own desires..?

Mark 16:17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; 18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

Apparently, true believers, or those who are saved, are impervious to chemical poisons. Jesus himself said so.

So whip up a batch of gasoline and antifreeze and drink up.

This is not my test. It is a test created by Jesus in the New Testament.

I am not tempting God. It is his test. He determined the parameters to weed out false Christians.

It seems to be a very simple test. You either survive, thus proving that Jesus lives or you die thus proving that you are a false Christian.

If you are unwilling to take the test, please stop referring to yourself as a Christian, when you clearly are not.

I was reading the NKJV Bible and came to a part where Jesus was doing the whole passover walk, and when he finally got there, something got my attention. There was a place before the temple where gentiles can go no further, then furhter in, there was a place where women can go no further, then further in, there was a place where jews can go no further, then further into the last temple, only the 12 chief priests can go. And of course, there was a last small place where only the chosen priest can enter. Anyways... Does this imply a heirarchy among people... I thought God loved us equally? Also, I heard from someone that God Blinded the Jews to free the Gentiles? - Whats up with that?

older cultures as well. And most also take the Old Testament as stories from which they can pick and choose for the points they wish to make. (Cafeteria style christians.)

Then where in the hell does the bit about Jesus come in to die for original sin, when, the Genesis story is just a myth??

What kind of ethical philosophy is it that condemns every child, even before it is born, to inherit the sin of some remote ancestor that never existed????????? (scary that fundamental christians believe this, isn't it???)

And interesting that to be really fair, the bible is not systematically evil, just weird, as anyone would expect of a chaotically put together document, composed, revised, translated and 'improved" by hundreds of people unknown to us all, and mostly unknown to each other over 9 centuries. How can "thinking" people be so gullible? (Or did I miss it completely...this type of person cannot think, just "believes".

too many christian follow blindly, in my opinion, thus fulfilling what jesus says about the blind following the blind, what happens to them? They fall in the ditch. of course Jesus was referring to sadducean and pharisitical leadership and was trying to correct truth and bringing people to repentance and faith.
Even the jews outlawed the prophecies of their own prophets, why would it be any different for christians and muslims and jews today?

I took a look at the atheist website (i only found 2 official ones)
and their stand against the Bible is based of the misguide minority of fundies that claim the creation was six twenty four hour days. Yet everyone I know, know that the crative days are indeterminate as spelled out in 2 Peter3:8 However, let this one fact not be escaping YOUR notice, beloved ones, that one day is with Jehovah as a thousand years and a thousand years as one day.
So, as the majority of Bible believers I know understand this clearly, is it not disgusting, that all of us are misrepresented by the atheist webmaster as holding to this scripturally unharmonious doctrine that is only held to by the small number of unreasonable 'fundies'?
The claims of Christians being uneducated; basically lumped together with those that are, is the most grossly misrepresented 'factoid' presented by the atheists, and in my opinion undermines their pretentious claims of fair and balanced information. Shame on you!

because the bible said that the first one in earth was Adam
Luke 3:38
[son] of Adam,
[son] of God.
Jesus is the first son but in heaven. (Colossians 1:15-17)
We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth ( 1 John 5:19) Here said that God Begat Jesus.
God begat Jesus that word means born like in Matthews 1:2 Abraham begat Isaac; and Isaac begat Jacob.
Jesus is the first but God has more sons because the bible said in Job 1:6 : Now it came to be the day when the sons of the [true] God entered to take their station before Jehovah, and even Satan proceeded to enter right among them.
and Job 2:1
Afterward it came to be the day when the sons of the [true] God entered to take their station before Jehovah, and Satan also proceeded to enter right among them to take his station before Jehovah.
