specially if you are white and in the south........If you believe that all human beings came from Adam and Eve, why do you condone interracial marriage between blacks and whites?
If you mention Bible ,in the old testament, it refered all other races black or white apart from the Jews as Gentiles. By the way whites are not Jews, neither are Jews whites. So if you stick to that it just meant a Jew not to marry a non believer. actually God was concerned about their belief and not color. Moses and Joseph for sure have married outside their race.
So why do you condone or think it is wrong for a black and white to marry?
(most issues arise when it comes to blacks, and not to other ethnic groups)
I am asking on the basis of both the white and black being christians.
please honest answer.
thanks

Well if your a creationist as I am then you believe that we are all really the same race. It's interesting if you look at the features of people across the world and see the similarities

I don't think it is morally wrong for blacks and whites to marry. The reason the Jews were not to mix with Gentiles is because God wanted His people pure. He didn't want the Gentile gods and goddesses to influence His people.
Now back to the blacks and whites marrying. They can love each other and get along fine, but the rest of the world does come into the picture. Not all families are accepting the mixed couples as yet. It is still causing family hardships. Great grandmother doesn't accept the white girlfriend. She doesn't understand why a black girlfriend isn't good enough for you. When you go to great grandmother's house she is the only white person there and vice versa when you go to her family. There is a culture difference. The same occurs with other ethnic groups.
I'm not saying the marriage cannot work. I am saying it takes a lot more effort to make the marriage work. So you'd best make double sure that you two love each other because same group marriages end up too often in divorce much less different culture group marriages. You've got a mark against you before you even start the marriage.
Love conquers all - so just maybe your marriage will work. If it doesn't, it is not because I didn't tell you. Ha! Ha!

It seems as though someone has hurt you I'm sorry for that. I think it is great for white people and black people to marry if they are both Christians. As a Christian who happens to live in the South I have no problem at all with interracial marriage. I think that Christians should only marry other Christians, what color of skin they have is irrelevant.

I don't think interracial marriage is wrong, and the Bible really doesn't have much to say about race. I do think that where you used the word "condone", you meant to say "condemn"- to condone of something means to approve of it. Read the story of Moses, specifically where his sister Miriam scolds him for marrying an Ethiopian woman, and what happens to Miriam after. The Bible cannot be used to condemn interracial marriage.

There is no excuse for racism. I've been in the South for 14 years and haven't seen a lot of racism here, not any more than I did on the East or West coasts of America. If you believe in Adam and Eve, then it's only natural to believe we are all brothers and sisters in God.
May God Bless you.

I am a southern white Christian and I see nothing in the Bible that says different races should not marry. Even some people I know who think they should not, think that because of how mean people can be to biracial children not because they think it's in the Bible.

There is a verse in the bible that says, in Christ there is neither Jew nor Greek, male nor female, slave nor free. We are equal in Jesus Christ. That being said, the bible also admonishes not to be "unequally yoked", that is, a believer with a non-believer. Race and color are not the issue. A person who has faith in Christ should not marry someone who does not.

Yah know, that's a really loaded question and assumes there is a greater racial problem in the south, which actually isn't true. Either you're very young or inexperienced in life. The answer to your question would be a totally individual one and is not necessarily going to come from the Bible.

You know I saw something today that said: Choose your friends by their character and your socks by their color. Choosing your socks by their character makes no sense and choosing your friends by their color is unthinkable.
Jesus loves everyone. I think He's really color-blind in the sense of seeing what our skin color is.

In the New Testament, there are only two "races", Christian and non-Christian.
