Yet, they still don't go to work on Christian holy days and take the wages for that day? They like the advantages of Christian influence but are very vocal when it comes to acceptance. Why is that?

Please don't think I'm trying to preach, Dick, or offend any Pagans. The company I work for DOES allow people to take off for holy days for their religion, and additionally they have off for the Christian holy days as well. I don't think that anyone should be persecuted for how they feel or what they believe. If everyone would remember that their rights end where the other person's begin, we'd all be better able to get on with one another. Again, I'm not trying to insight anger or hostility, I think you're all great people, and I appreciate your sharing of your thoughts with me. Thank you.

I think it is wonderful to be able to discuss topics like this in an open forum. It's better than keeping bad feelings bottled up inside, and we get to learn from eachother, I know that I have learned much from many people, and I want to keep learning, I am getting a great gift from you, and I appreciate it.

Also, where I work, the Jehova's Witness employee comes in and works on Christmas, no one forces him to, he doesn't celebrate any holidays, and he works a few hours each Saturday. His sabbath is on Sunday, and that's the only day he doesn't work at all.

Jesus stated that the world would hate us because we spoke words that would convict them of their sins . He said that unbelievers would spring up like thorns to try to strangle the seed of God's word. His words are true and the world will hate us just as it hated him under the domination of the devil.

Silly question. Christian "holy days" are almost all Pagan in origin. Surely you know that the Pagan day of the Sun, is Sunday, and that Saturday was the holy day of Jesus and his cult, the true `Sabbath day`. Of course Christians enjoy May Day, Easter, Harvest Festival, and those that occur in December, are all Pagan in origin.

I have no problem at all with Jesus. Its just some of his followers that bug me -- the ones that claim to have the closest personal relationship with him, but you couldn't see it in their actions. The ones who are more than happy to brag about their salvation, but can't even follow Jesus' commandments. The ones who whine about persecution, but put others down for fighting for equal rights. Its nauseating.

As far as christian "holy days", you guys have two -- Easter and Christmas. Unfortunately for you, they're both originally pagan holidays that were assimilated by the church. So these days have been celebrated for thousands of years before they were ever recognized as christian holidays.

I've never worked for a company that allows employees to take off for religious days without using their vacation or sick days. What a co-worker does with his/her vacation/sick days is none of my concern.

The only Christian holiday that people take off from work without using vacation time is Christmas.

Most companies are closed on Christmas, therefore the employees are required not to work on this day, regardless of their personal religious beliefs.

Christmas is also a national holiday. Government and bank workers are required not work on this day, regardless of their personal religious beliefs.

If they are quick to complain about Jesus and Christianity might it be because,

" light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved " ?

As to working on certain days and taking advantage of Christian influence, that is another issue and why not let them be blessed by Christian influence?

Why do I complain? cause I am tired of being discriminated against. I am tired of Christians getting involved in my personal life. I am tired of Christians trying to segregate mankind cause they disagree with them. I see we have learned nothing from the Native American and the 60s. In stead of African Americans they wanna segregate gays. Who will they try to make a second rate citizen next? I have a right to protest when my rights are being stepped on by another group of people. There seems to be a double standard here. Christians can discriminate from their own pulpits but if anyone else does we get slapped with a lawsuit. It's really a double standard. The churches are somehow protected and can do whatever they want when they want. It's not right.

maybe because your "Christian holy days" overlap the holy days of several other religions.

I am Pagan, i usually have to work on Yule. but 2 days later i get a free day off to spend with my family. and why would i complain about free money.

and if it was not for your so called christian influence i would be celebrating on the day intended and not be working because it would be somebody elses influence.

the complaints really have nothing to do with Jesus. or the religion as a whole. but with people that try to force thoes beliefs on everybody that they meet. and to try to make their beliefs into laws.

Jesus was nailed on a cross for saying and doing what he did.
Almost all his followers were also crucified, some even upside down.
Christianity started like that and will go on like that/
Followers of Jesus Christ will have to carry the cross.
We should not complain and whine
We should kneel to God and ask for mercy.
We should thank God for all His blessings.
We should pray for one another.
We should worship The Father and live in His presence.
For what does God require us to do but
to do justice,
to love kindness, and
to walk humbly with our God.

Because on the one hand you have a wealth of lies brought about to control and manipulate the mass public, and on the other you have time off work - it's really quite simple, I don't understand why you're having a problem here....

You are right and why do they love to call Christians hypocrites, bigots, and all other awful terms? As if Christianity has contributed nothing to the society that they enjoy. An atheists can slander Christians all day long and it is OK with everyone. You know what I am OK with it. I love these people because Christ created them regardless of the fact that they deny Him, they are Christs creation. I know what I have in Christ is real and it doesn't bother me what anyone says.

"Yet, they still don't go to work on Christian holy days and take the wages for that day?"

there ya go.....one of the most basic of answers....

I HAVE to take off Christian holidays because I am a teacher at a public school and I have no choice

and yet I have to use MY OWN personal days to take off for MY RELIGION

Christians control things so much that they have given themselves paid time off to celebrate their holidays while leaving the rest of us to have to give up our pay to celebrate ours

and so what that we have that time off....

have YOU ever tried to live your life on Christian holidays?
take Christmas. EVERYTHING IS CLOSED, so it's not like we can really enjoy it!
