I try. For example, I work part time so I can spend 2 days during the week going from door to door, teaching the good news of the Kingdom. This means that I don't have a career as such, I can't ever progress further where I work, I also don't get lots of money! Does this bother me? No, not in the slightest. I prefer to do want God wants me to do and try to please him.

I guess you are asking if people are capable of putting God's Will before their own?
In that case, YES, it is possible, but only through the salvation we have in Jesus Christ. Without cleansing of our sin nature we can do nothing to please God. However, when we are made clean, we are able to do acts which please God.
Do we as Christians always follow the Will of God in our own lives? Nope. We still sin and fall short, but now we have the capability to pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off and try again in the power of Jesus Christ.

That is a good question, with discipline and study and love you can live in God's will. It takes faith everlasting. But it's not impossible to live in God's will and deny your own will.

Do you write to Santa dutifully every year?
(Same sort of question, really, given the underlying assumption.)

You do ask compelling questions, don't you? All I can say is that I try. And frequently fail. And keep trying. I do ask Him for His guidance.

Having never encountered any credible definition of such will, I see no point in trying to do so.
