It is all about facing our fate as men. We don't need an emotional crutch like a God to call upon when things go wrong. Ultimately all that happens to us is due to cause and effect based on consequences of actions. Collectively this earth will be destroyed because of the actions of evil men. It is the acts of good men that will stop this planet from falling into chaos. The biggest weapon of evil is distortion and confusion.

Even Christians are told by their prophets the majority will be mislead by the Anti-Christ. Most of them don't read their bible or look outside of it for other information. This is why so many of them will be lead astray.

Poor stupid Christian sheep. The Christian will tell you they know because the bible tell them so. You can't even get them to understand the deception was set up over 2000 years ago. How do I know this as an Atheist? Because I am not blinded by faith. I can read and understand the bible just like numerous of other sources that Christian won't touch because their bible say it is evil and demonic. This is how the deception is perpetrated on the closed minded Christian. The bible is the true evil because it stops reasoning and continuing education of the sheep Christian.

yes. Religioin was the source of my biggest fears growing up. The threat of hell was everywhere i went. I had to do things i hated doing like saying the rosary everyday during lent and fasting etc or else......!!!!!!!! I broke out of that cycle when i developed the courage to take full responsibility for myself. No more "you will go to hell", or "you don't wanna annoy god" etc instead it became, if i don't pay my bills, my credit suffers and i wouldn't be able to buy a house later on. Stuff like that. In order words, i claimed my choices and their consequences.

Atheists have decided to let go of the religious delusions like god will provide, god has a plan etc. Instead we make back up plans to decrease our uncertainties and we find ways to manage our lives to decrease the amt of uncertainties we face. Just because someone believes god will provide and the other doesn't doesn't make a difference in the outcome. Except that while the one who believes that god will provide is more likely to sit on their *** waiting for god to provide while the other either gets up and takes care of buisness or sits down and awaits the consequences.

About not knowing what happens after death, really no one knows. Proof? We all (atheists and theists) are still afraid of death. How many times do you see christians say this world is only temporary, there is a better place for me in heaven, but then when they become sick they fervently start praying and doing all they can to make sure they don't actually leave this crappy world for paradise?

Some people like to face their uncertainties head on while others like to make up stories to tide them through. Whatever floats your boat

You've not read Sartre, Camus, Koestler... or wrestled with the plays of Samuel Beckett, then?

No, not all atheists find it happy and easy, any more than all Christians or other theists do.

If *you* have a happy and satisfied position, good for you, seriously, good for you.
As long as you haven't arrived there by not even noticing the problem.

I don't think anyone, except perhaps a select group of older people who have completed their life goals, doesn't fear death at some time or another, but it is better to grasp reality and run with it than persist in delusion.

There is nothing to fear for those who are certain in their own beliefs. Most Christians fear death because they don't really believe in God. If they believed in God, they would not be afraid of terrorists or Islam. Atheists don't fear death because they know for a fact there is no heaven or hell.

If you are talking about a fear of death most creatures on this planet have some reserve against dying it is built into their biology. If they die they can not reproduce if they can not reproduce they can not spread their genes.

So if you want to over come a specific fear of death you simply must be courageous and live well and face death with courage and control ones emotional perturbance.

It's biology that creates fear. Specifically your limbic system.

You don't know anything. I did not sign up for the truth because of the promise of ever lasting life. If thats what you think you are way off buddy. Don't attack my belief in God, it won't work. You would be a wiser person if you just admit that you do not know.

Bull. They're not afraid to take Atheism's position; they're just too deeply indoctrinated/brain-washed to be able to see the natural in the nature. I agree about skydaddy and afterlife, but it's mainly indoctrination, not fear. And I take my position as a rule... there are exceptions (& one was here yesterday) My $.02.
