Mark 16:17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; 18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

Apparently, true believers, or those who are saved, are impervious to chemical poisons. Jesus himself said so.

So whip up a batch of gasoline and antifreeze and drink up.

This is not my test. It is a test created by Jesus in the New Testament.

I am not tempting God. It is his test. He determined the parameters to weed out false Christians.

It seems to be a very simple test. You either survive, thus proving that Jesus lives or you die thus proving that you are a false Christian.

If you are unwilling to take the test, please stop referring to yourself as a Christian, when you clearly are not.

they did not have gasoline and antifreeze.

to be accurate you would need to use something organic that existed in that area.

the venom of a cobra should do it.

or just some good ole rust water. cyanide will work and it occurs in nature.

You are tempting the Lord God no doubt
and Jesus
would not expect us to drink gasoline or antifreeze
this is tempting the Lord and you are

And to be a Christian means believing on the son of
God Jesus who died for your sins and mine
on the cross at Calvary
on the third day he did rise again and Jesus lives
with all of us who believe in him
and no special test is required to be a Christian you
are fooling yourself and God and tempting the Lord
You are a jerk
and I am a Christian no matter what you may say to
all of us who are a Christian

I would raise my hand
but anyone who tempts God by drinking poisons and intentionally taking up serpents does not understand scriptures.
I do know of a man that was force fed Gas, and he didnt die, according to the story i heard, he was poisoned several times and did not die. I heard another story of a man who poisoned a mans hamburger in England, and sat astonished that when the person ate the hamburger Nothing happened.
God will save a servant from all kinds of terrible things, as long as there is a need and it is expedient, but He will also allow criminals to what they would do and receive His servants unto himself. remember He did not spare His own son? And yet His only begotten son was made more glorious than all and was raised above all the heavens.

Hey there mr. smarty pants. Did you see anything in there saying that each and every Christian will do those things or that those signs would accompany all of them as a whole?

I ask, because there are stories of saints who were poisoned and did not die.

Other saints have cured the sick.

Me, I speak new languages... Italian, Spanish, German.

It is not for us to pick which gifts the Holy Spirit gives to each of us for the upbuilding of the body of Christ.

Nor is it right to put God to the test... as the devil tried to trick Christ to do in Matthew... and it was a similar test too.

There's no "test" for being a Christian. rather one must place one's faith and trust in God and His love and seek to love Him and others as one's self.

Are you ready to take that challenge? I'd say that challenge, to actually really love others (including one's enemies) is even harder than some parlor trick.

Jesus would not be in here condemning people. The test of Christianity is not in the sign gifts. It is your love.

"If I speak with the tongues of men and angels but have not love I am a noisy gong...." read on you need this word. first Corinthians chapter 13. Make it a confession.

And as Jesus said to satan in the wilderness, "You shall not tempt the Lord your God." I'd rather stay in God's good graces than be too concerned about your opinion.

Who's been teaching you...? Sponge'Bob...? you've "skew'd" God s Word... read Matthew, Chapter 4...
Then if you're still interested.... read Romans Chapter 1 vs. 16.... why...? because I'm not a Christian... Christians don't have the "corner" on God...(as you're about to read)...then read Romans, Chapter 8 vs. 5 thru 9... and "open your eyes" and your "Heart".... Shalom.

I have taken the test but not the way you suggest. I traveled for 2 1/2 years in Nigeria in West Africa and ate and drank what was set before us. We had no control over making sure the water was boiled first or was pure...We don't know what went into the food but we survived it. God did take care of us.

A Christian knows the word of God. And the word of God says, not to put Him to the test.

Therefore, I will leave the judgment of my heart, whether I am a true "Christian" or not, up to the only one whose opinion matters to me: God.
