The bible ( gospel ) is clear on how we are to conduct ourselves.

If you see someone who claims to be a christian not acting in a way that follows the gospel..............* Do you hold him accountable for his actions or the religion he claims? *

Is it supposed to be some sort of reassurance to the speaker that they're more righteous?

Is it supposed to persuade the atheist to change their mind because of fear?

Is it simply a taunt, sort of a "nyah nyah nyah, I'm saved and you're going to roast forever"?

Humans often start out by developing twin blastocysts, but at some point in fetal development the twins fuse and one is absorbed by the other. Simple genetic tests can determine if one carries the cells of an absorbed twin. This developmental process is known as chimerism.

So then, according to the religious mythology of some, where God places a soul in each blastocyst, do these people have two souls? Or are they simply condemned to Hell for murdering their twin fetus?

this 2005 article http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=45874

"A federal court of appeals ruled yesterday Wisconsin prison officials violated an inmate's rights because they did not treat atheism as a religion."

additionally:
"The Supreme Court has said a religion need not be based on a belief in the existence of a supreme being. In the 1961 case of Torcaso v. Watkins, the court described "secular humanism" as a religion. "

Wow. So, who has some cool church plans? Giant Penis Building, anyone? Other good ideas?

Finally, large tax breaks and public funding are within our reach! We can even declare some holidays! Woo! I vote fridays off.

I also appoint myself antipope, and await the first schism with eager anticipation.

In the book “The God Delusion” Dawkins speaks of two polls taken among the scientific community that show that more scientist are atheist than not. Also the scientists with the highest educations were all Atheists. He also speaks of another study taken in the US with the general public where it showed most people with higher education were Atheists and those with lower educational achievements were associated with some form of religion.

Question 1. Where can I find this study to read the questions asked and more detailed results.

Question 2. Do you believe there studies hold water?

Do we have two eternal alternatives: The agony and torment of Hell -- or the sheer utter boredom of Heaven?

I don't know about you, but I'll pick boredom over agony.

I honestly don't mean any disrespect here, and I'm directing this question to Christians ( mostly because Christians seem to be the most vocal about their viewpoints), but it could just as easily apply to any religion. I just don't see how most religions have really made the world a better place. I've listed specifics down below:

Women are commonly abused and discrimated against based on passages written in the Bible.

The same for Gays and Lesbians

Wars are waged against the heathens and unbelievers

Organized religion commonly gains material possessions by war, pillage and confisgating property of the persecuted heretics and heathens.

The untold amount of psychological damage done by controlling, rigid and guilt ridden relgions.

The hypocrisy of men and woman leaders who abuse their subjects.

The loss of knowledge and understanding because "we" can't learn about or befriend people who don't believe as we do.

How exactly has religion made the world better?

Why is it so difficult for some people to accept that there are people in this world who think on their own and can't be ordered to believe as they want them to? I'm me, you are you. Who are you to tell me what I believe, and who am I to tell you what you believe? Do these people that do this really suffer from an inferiority complex or something? What is wrong with them, on all sides? Bottom line is, nobody is going to believe just because you feel that you are entitled to dictate this to them. Even if you do hold somebody by a gun, sword, whatever weapon, they may say it, but they won't feel it in their hearts. What's the satisfaction in that? If you are capable of thought, you know in the back of your mind that people are all different.

I personally think everyone should knock the pathetic hating off because it only shows how lowly they think of themselves. What is your opinion?

Ethics and morality connotes wisdom and discipline. True discipline sprouts from real love. In the world today, a lot is talked about love but in reality very few know what is real love. Real love is the love we have for the creator...or anybody without any expectations. For a mother it is easier to love all as she has experienced the creators role and can rise above to a level where she can feel love and compassion for all. If many can do this then making life and environment easy for all shall help all those who are ethical and thus there shall be no obstacles in ehical living...

Would it be one that was written by people uneducated in biblical language such as Greek? What if the people never graduated college and never studied anything regarding translation or biblical studies and basically had no credentials to translate? What if this bible had drastic differences when compared to all of the other mainstream creditable bibles that strangely seemed to have words inserted and changed to fit their sects doctrines?

What bible could I be talking about...

http://www.contenderministries.org/jehovahswitnesses/nwt.php#Notes

P.S. for those of you that say this site is bias, go buy 5 different versions of bibles from a book store and find these same passages and compare them to the New World Translation. You will see for yourself how absurd the changes are. You will also notice that no one is sited for constructing the NWT, they tried to keep the people secret. Gee I wonder why...

Christians seem to be the ones who are quick to insult and condemn everyone to hell for not following as they do. Hell, maybe I just don't want to be considered as a total loss for being a woman, or maybe I don't want my father to stick his finger up in me. why is it so difficult for a christian to think logically, that maybe everyone has different beliefs and no matter how much you shove it down our throats, we won't believe that bs. No religion is the best religion, especially with fvckEd up christians around.

People who beleive in the only the Bible believe that all other books are written by man alone (vice cersa with other religions) Just like God had the Bible created through prophets, isn't it possible that other books could be created through an evil power? Sometimes I doubt a man alone could write such a book. I am not hating on any religious book after all I am Mormon. Maybe you believe they were just really smart men?
