The Antichrist is the second person in Satan's false trinity: Satan, his son and the false prophet.
According to passages in Daniel and Revelation, the Antichrist will be a gentile (non-Jew) and arise out of Italy. He will have remarkable charisma and diplomatic powers. He will broker a 7-year peace agreement between Israel and the middle east, during which time the Third Temple will be rebuilt. Half way through the peace treaty, the Antichrist will break the covenant and stop Jews from using the Temple; his false prophet will then set up a statue in the Temple that miraculously appears to speak. At that time, the Antichrist will proclaim that he is god. The false prophet will require everyone to worship the Antichrist and receive his mark, either on their right hand or their forehead. Anyone who refuses will be beheaded. After another 3 1/2 years, all remaining humans on the earth will either worship the Antichrist or God; there won't be any who are undecided. All Jews left alive will be saved (that is, will worship the true God); but many Gentiles will follow the Antichrist. When the last Jew makes his or her decision, Jesus will return. The first thing He does is cast the Antichrist and the false prophet into the Lake of Fire. Satan will be bound in Hell. After 1,000 years and one last try by Satan to take over, the Antichrist and false prophet, (together with all unbelievers from all of history) are resurrected, judged guilty and cast alive into the lake of fire with Satan, where they will remain for all eternity.
That's it in a nutshell. If you want Scriptural sources, send me a message through YA.
EDIT: Contrary to what "Adam's Rib" wrote, 1 John 2:18a explicitly tells us there will be ONE Antichrist, although there have already been many who have his spirit. If you know what Elijah, Elisha and John the Baptist have in common, then you'll understand the concept John is referring to (not that these were antichrists). Remember, Satan seeks to corrupt what is good.

Antichrist basically means "Anti" against or instead of Christ. The term applies to all who deny what the Bible says about Jesus Christ, all who oppose his Kingdom, and all who mistreat his followers. It also includes individuals, organizations, and nations that falsely claim to represent Christ or that improperly ascribe to themselves the role of Messiah.
1 John 2: 18 "Young children, it is the last hour, and, just as you have heard that antichrist is coming, even now there have come to be many antichrist; from which fact we gain the knowledge that it is the last hour."
2 John 7 "Many deceivers have gone forth into the world, person not confessing Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh. This is the deceiver and the antichrist."
1 John 4: 3 "Every inspired expression that does not confess Jesus does not originate with God. Furthermore, this is the antichrist's inspired expression which you have heard was coming, and now it is already in the world."
1 John 2: 18 "Even now there have come to be many antichrists; from which fact we gain the knowledge that it is the last hour."
Some of those individuals identified as antichrist:
Persons who deny that Jesus is truly the Messiah and the son of God
1 John 2:22 " Who is the liar if it is not the o ne that denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist. This is the antichrist, the one that denies the Father and the Son."
(Compare John 10: 36 & Luke 9: 35)
Apostates
1 John 2: 18 & 19 "There have come to many antichrists...they went from us, but they were not of our sort."
Those who oppose Christ's true followers:
John 15: 20 & 21 "If they have persecuted me, they will persecute you also...But they will do all these things against you on account of my name."
Individuals and naitons that oppose Christ as King or that themselves falsely claim the Messianic role:
Ps. 2: 2 "The kings of the earth take their stand and high officials themselves have massed together as one against Jehovah and against his anointed one." See also Rev. 17:3; 12-14; 19: 11-21
Matt. 24: 24 "False Christs and false prophets will arise and will give great signs and wonders so as to mislead, if possible, even the chosen ones."

“Every inspired expression that does not confess Jesus does not originate with God. Furthermore, this is the antichrist’s inspired expression which you have heard was coming, and now it is already in the world.” (1 John 4:3)
John used the term “antichrist” five times in two of his epistles. It refers to an entity that opposes what the Bible teaches about Jesus Christ and includes impostors who present themselves as Christ or as sent by him. The Bible gives reliable information about the antichrist.
Jesus foretold the coming of antichrist: “For false Christs and false prophets will arise and will give great signs and wonders so as to mislead, if possible, even the chosen ones.” And so did the apostle Paul: “Let no one seduce you in any manner, because [the day of Jehovah] will not come unless the falling away comes first and the man of lawlessness gets revealed, the son of destruction.” Like John, Paul showed that “the mystery of this lawlessness is already at work,” in his day, and that it was “according to the operation of Satan.”—Matt. 24:24; 2 Thess. 2:3, 7, 9, NW.
It appears that “antichrist” has a twofold meaning. As its name indicates, it is anti or opposed to Christ. And it also has the thought of false or pseudo Christ, in the place or stead of Christ. While, as we have seen, some have attempted to apply the term to a certain individual, or organization, the foregoing scriptures, together with the physical facts, indicate that all persons, organizations or groups that falsely claim to represent Christ, that arrogate to themselves the Messianic role or that oppose Christ and his followers can properly be termed antichrists, even as Jesus said: “He that is not on my side is against me, and he that does not gather with me scatters.” (Matt. 12:30, NW)

According to 1-3 John, it is anyone who rejects Jesus Christ has truly already came. Jesus Christ fulfilled the Messianic prophecies of the promised Messiah. One has to be aware of the Messianic prophecied to deny this.
He who denies the cross is an enemy of the cross.
He who denies the Father & the Son is antichrist. In 1Jn5 it is written that God (Elohim) Is the Father Word & Holy Spirit. So, also denying the Trinity is antichrist.
He who denies that what Jesus did, shedding His own blood for the remission of our sins, is sufficient payment for those who believe on Him to receive ever lastinglife.
He who denies the Power of the cross for salvation. It is foolishness for those who perish. But those redeemed, it is the power of the Gospel.
He who denies the power of the Holy Ghost & calls it evil has blasphemed the Holy Ghost & God. One can't come to salvation when blaspheming Gods Spirit. One has to see that it is the Spirit (healing, etc.) & accuse it as evil, not the person, to actually blaspheme the Holy Spirit. This takes seeing the spiritual reality behind the healing or the spirit behind the miracle.
Also, there is the man of lawlessness, the son of perdition, etc. who is the big Antichrist. A leader as himself as being good as God, disrespecting women & stand in the temple (In Jerusalem) claiming to be God. This is also closely associated with the beast(antichrist government) & false prophet(s).

The anti-Christ is a person who will be indwelt by the spirit of the devil. Who he is or where he will come from will only be revealed during the last days at the start of the tribulation. He will get the middle east to sign a seven year peace pact, he will receive a head wound so severe that he dies and in 3 days comes back to life (not resurrected but back to life), he will form a one world religion, and divide the world into kingdoms which bow down to him. He will lead the last struggle for power for Satan at Armageddon, where he will be defeated by JESUS. He will then be placed in chains and thrown into the bottomless pit to dwell forever and never see GOD again.

My money is on Sanjaya from American Idol. It makes since. He keeps winning even though he can not sing. He wants you to worship him as an idol. And, he comes from Washington the home of American politics. He is either the antichrist or a terrorist sent in to torture listeners into surrendering in Iraq. It is like the FBI at Ruby Ridge. We are under siege.

Anti-Christ is anyone who opposses the teachings and the knowledge about Jesus Christ and is practicing a different faith or religion that does not mention Jesus Christ literally.
The Catholics and other Christians however, have demonized and called anyone who raises havoc, indifference, oppositions, inventions, destruction to the world or just anyone who looks as antipathy to a free process as anti-Christ even if the man is a Christian like Napoleon Bonaparte, Hitler, the Pope, the past and present presidents of USA such as Reagan and George Bush. This actually is happening to cover the real devil that resides in the most impossible place to believe called the house of worships.

Antichrist means instead of Christ. It is satan and when he comes to earth he will be pretending to be Jesus. Many so called christians will follow him because they think he is Jesus, come to rapture them away. Jesus is coming for a spiritually virgin bride. Those who jump on antichrist band wagon will no longer be spiritual virgins.
