I have dealt with very very deep, involved, entangled confusion for many years about the subject of Tithing. I am so tired of being confused. Please, someone tell me the truth according to the Bible and to God's love. Please enlighten me.
You see, I am an out of work paralegal, and I live with my parents. I am 32 years of age. I am receiving SSDI for OCD. I get less than 700 dollars per month in the form of SSDI payments.
My car needs 1200 dollars worth of repairs. Our clothes dryer is busted, and we require a new one. My Mom is also disabled and out of work, due to Carpal tunnel syndrome. Our only sources of income are my step dad and myself- and combined, we earn less than 2K per month, and we are a three person family. Our rent is 850.
I have been failing to pay my tithes recently, and I am confused. What should I do? Should I give God ten percent of my meager income, and just expect that he will provide food on the table?
Or, is this foolish? Should I spend it on food?
