Please don't get me wrong by this post. He is a man of God. However everything someone says to him, he has a scripture for it! It has become ridiculous. I think that there is a time and place for everything. Everyone doesn't take kindly to things like that.

Only those who feel threatened by God are those who will be turned off by his talking and preaching.

Hmmm. I thought that the current view from the secular world was separation of church, state, work, and now primary education.
My first thought would be that this person is extremely unsure of himself and is trying to fit in somehow; either that or repel people totally so he doesn't have to deal with his own insecurity. He also sounds like he might be a genius ~ the kind with the photographic memory....
If it was me I would politely suggest to him that he goes into some sort of work for God since that seems to be his calling, and maybe suggest that the goes to seminary....or ask him if he has ever thought about taking the vow of silence.
PS There is is a time and a place for everything Ecc 3: 1 "To every thing there is a season and a time to every purpose under heaven." Perhaps a gentle reminder might help him to get the point.

Well, some people are like that, I know alot of people like that I grew up in a very Christian family. All I can do is smile when I meet people like that because that's really all they know. And that's the kind of life they live, and belive you me they are happy. Just think he has probably never been exposed to all the evil that is in the world and if he has he has chose to see the good instead.

I'm a christian and I've read the bible. If others want to read it they should, but I'm certainly not going to recite it at work. I don't actually recite it anywhere or spend my time trying to memorize verses, trying to understand what it says it enough for me. I can't imagine having to work with someone who constantly recited scripture, and honestly, if that would bug me, a christian, and it would, then I certainly can't imagine any boss putting up with it. I would discuss it with your boss, and just ask him or her to have a little talk with this ministering coworked and explain to him that work is work, he can preach all he wants after work, but not during.

Personally I believe that religion does not belong in the workplace unless your workplace is a church or religious themed school. One can ask him politely not to give references around them but if he persists and it is bothersome and it interferes with the continuity of the workplace then the supervisor and human resources are the next step. As much as he has freedom of religion and the right to express himself, others have the same freedom to not be harassed in the workplace.

He don't mean to offend. He truly believes what he says. He believes Jesus is coning soon and wants his family and friends to join him because when Jesus calls the Christians out of this world it is going to be a very bad place to live. It will be a time like there has never been nor will ever be again.

That's great that he knows his Bible, but like you if he does it constantly, it comes off more as arrogant than spiritual which is annoying! I hope it gets better for you, maybe you could tell him to tone it down a little. Good luck

Be kind but tell this person that even Jesus took time to be human.
He taught little children, he attended parties, he loved us all, that was 1 of his reasons for coming to save us!

Seriously. It has been said of these people don't keep your head so high in the heavens, that you are no earthly good.
Even we as witnesses of Jehovah take time out to play.

Why not counter with scriptures of your own?

Deuteronomy 22:28
If a man happens to meet a virgin who is not pledged to be married and rapes her and they are discovered, 29 he shall pay the girl's father fifty shekels of silver. He must marry the girl, for he has violated her. He can never divorce her as long as he lives.

Deuteronomy 21:18-21
18 If a man has a stubborn and rebellious son who does not obey his father and mother and will not listen to them when they discipline him, 19 his father and mother shall take hold of him and bring him to the elders at the gate of his town. 20 They shall say to the elders, "This son of ours is stubborn and rebellious. He will not obey us. He is a profligate and a drunkard." 21 Then all the men of his town shall stone him to death.

Matthew 10:34-38
34"Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. 35For I have come to turn
" 'a man against his father,
a daughter against her mother,
a daughter-in-law against her motherinlaw—
36a man's enemies will be the members of his own household.'[a]

Leviticus 15:28
" 'When she is cleansed from her discharge [period], she must count off seven days, and after that she will be ceremonially clean. 29 On the eighth day she must take two doves or two young pigeons and bring them to the priest at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting. 30 The priest is to sacrifice one for a sin offering and the other for a burnt offering. In this way he will make atonement for her before the LORD for the uncleanness of her discharge.

Proverbs 29:11
"A fool uttereth all his mind: but a wise man keepeth it in till afterwards."

The problem with his behavior falls into that category. He makes a mockery of his faith and of the bible this way.

I used to do that until one day in prayer, God clued me in on the fact that everyone doesn't want a 3 point sermon and a poem to answer their question...seriously....
