I’m a liberal Jew and my boyfriend is an Orthodox Jew. His parents are ultra orthodox and told him that he wouldn’t inherit his fortune if he married a goyim or a non Orthodox Jew. Ever since we started to get serious he has been on and on at me to become an Orthodox Jew, even though he knows how much I despise it and how much I love liberal Judaism. At a Shabbat dinner he to told me that if I didn’t become an Orthodox Jew he wouldn’t be able to marry me in the future, I was shocked and decided to become an Orthodox Jew, but now I’m miserable and dread going to synagogue. Should I tell him or should I just try harder to embrace Orthodox Judaism?

What are muslims to do, when people say that they arn't condeming or saying anything to stop the muslims that are making Islam look bad. There really isn't anything to do. When normal americans see something like Darfur they think and fell like they should help to make a difference, but in reality there isnt much they can do, so they go back to there normal lives knowing people are being killed in Darfur. Its the same with muslims. how do muslims stop the terrorists. its not like the terrorists who are focused on their goals are going to listen to muslims.

To follow up on my judaism question. Madonna(sorry to use her as an example) converted so as ignorant as it might be to ask: does that mean kabbalah a more open practice of judaism?

I'm just really very interested but so far i havn't gotten a good straight answer and online isn't giving me a good answer either.

I found two definitions which I really like:

1. An interconnectedness of one's self, others, and the universe
2. An individual's effort to construe a broad sense of personal meaning that gives one the will to live productively

What do you think of those definitions? Do you have another one that you feel does a good job of defining spirituality?

In modern day it seems that the Greeks and ROman Gods were thought of as mythical creatures but fit well into their art and culture. Were they really worhipped as Gods ? Do you think this sorta parallels to what we have now ??

the mother god gave me doesnt care about me, she cares for my brother and sister and others
everytime i need her help she
yells at me
but when she needs my help i help her
but when i don't
she complains and tell everybody how hard she has it and i don't help her and alway geting smart with her

Megan: She is a young woman working for the public relations company and she makes very good money and she owns a condo overlooking Lake Ontario just outside of Toronto, she owns a ton of nice clothes, she owns a brand new Infiniti M35, she gets to go onto nice vacations and owns a ton of nice furniture and stereo equipment, plus she is a very happy woman and she believes in God and Jesus

Diane: She is an elderly woman working at a department store and she is a hard worker but the store manager treats her like crap and doesn't appreciate her work and he has gotten on her case good for not performing her duties as fast as he wanted her to cause of her age and she is a very nice woman who is living her life for God and Jesus but she is not liking her job cause her manager is a corrupted egomaniac.

and wanted to become a reformed jew. I started learning hebrew and read the torah and celebrating jewish holidays. Would that make me a true believer in the jewish religion if my heart was in it but i wasn't born jewish?

How many atheists would be prepared to look to the sky and shout obscenities at God. I think 95% would feel really uncomfortable because they wouldn't be sure he couldn't hear them. Surely this makes them reluctant christians.
