Mankind is built to satisfy our needs. The 2 strongest forces in life are to eat and to procreate.

Good question.
Not all sin is considered equal. If a person commits a sin never knowing it was a sin, then, in effect, it is not a sin. Whereas, if a person commits the very same sin knowing full well it is a sin they are in deep doo doo with God.
I think sins of the flesh are the ones we succumb to the fastest. They are a pronounced object of biblical concern.
Plus, at least as far as America goes, we've become convinced we have a right to know any individual's personal business. To stick our nose in where it doesn't belong.
Sex seems to be the place to hit people - well - below the belt.
So that's where a lot of hard core evangelists go right from the start.
Personally, I'd rather start with God's love. Round about the middle, more of God's love. At the end? Love Love Love.

It is NOT a true Biblical concept. The passage that most who use it base it on is Matthew 19:9. The verb there is indeterminate on action. It can be either continuing or completed action. To say that one can be "living in sin" forces the verb to be continuing action. The grammar of the text does not allow this interpretation to be forced upon it.
... The common reference is "commits adultery" which accounts for the connotation with sex.

This may be a question for the language section - see if someone knows the origins and timing of how "living in sin" became a figure of speech.

I have wondered about why there seems to be more stigma attatched to certain sins.
But as far as living in sin goes, it does stand out in the sense that the people are going against morality and don't care who knows it.

God is black and white on this matter. A sin is a sin and if you break one then you are guilty of separating yourself from God by breaking his law. I can not speak of other Christians, I do not obsess over sexual sin. I fight it myself and am honest about it. It does ensnare many people and that is why people compromise away from God's opinion on it. We continue to make God who we can follow instead of what God wants from us. We all fall short ( even proclaimed Christians) of the Glory of God. does this make us hypocrites or human.
