Nope...but I suppose he might want some people to. My gift is not in following. I suppose God might have me listed under "headache".

blindly follow your leader? in the book of samuel chapter 8, when the israelites first wanted a king to rule over them, G-d advised them against it, warning them that a king would just exploit the people. but the israelites insisted, and eventually G-d relented and basically said "but don't come crying back to me when the inevitable happens."
what does this say about the bible's attitude towards human leaders? its not exactly a big fan of the idea. it opposes the idea of the powerful ruling over the weak - might does not equal right. one of the most repeated phrases of the bible is "do not oppress the poor, or the widows, or the orphans" - basically, do not oppress the powerless. even G-d, the most powerful being in the universe, chose to restrict his power by willingly entering into a covenant with humans - and at a time when he had just saved them all and they were most vulnerable to boot, and when by all logic he could have simply said, "i'm G-d and you're not, you'll die in the wilderness without me, so do what i say or else." instead he chose to make a deal with humans, in which the power is shared between the powerful (G-d) and the weak (humans).

My God has never been about blindly following anyone or anything. In fact, questioning and gaining knowledge is a large part of what he stands for. If I were to simply accept everything at face value, even his existence, he'd probably be very disappointed.

The Bible does not say that,
The Bible says Seek and you shall find.
I encourage you to research as much as you can while you are on this earth, when check-out-time comes, you want to be ready.
I know the answer, I wish I could make you see my friend, that you need Jesus.
John 3:16 - For God so loved the world, he gave his only Son, Whoever believes in him, shall not perish but have everlasting life.

I had a communicate with a Christian approximately blind faith and he or she claimed Christians do no longer blindly have faith in God. that there is relatively information for what they suspect in and that they have faith because of this. I as an atheist think of faith is a perception in something that may not be in a position to be shown so that's no longer clever to me in spite of the fact that i comprehend what's real for me could no longer be real for each individual else. i've got faith, as you reported, the mysterious procedures, God's plan and not questioning God's plan are all excuses yet i've got come to comprehend that it's not the Christian's fault, they have been brainwashed via their leaders, who have been brainwashed too and so it is going on. i could love for there to be a God if he's each and all of the failings he's meant to be yet i won't be in a position to have faith in something that is going against my reasoning and good judgment and the fact i don't have blind faith. Are you familiar with R.M. Hare's considered 'bliks', finding them up in simple terms a splash could be useful to you.

No, as a matter of fact we are encouraged to seek for ourselves to determine if what we are told is true. Just because some are not interested in learning doing the work necessary does not mean everyone is. Most people I know spend a great deal of time reading the Bible and checking what they are told.

Blindly, no.
God does love obedience. That's a common thread throughout the bible. But God gave us a brain. We must use it.

No God wants us to follow Him. All people are falable and tend towards sin. You learn from teachers and take it to your Bible in prayer. If it all matches that is the direction to go.

I believe that one who draws near to God, He will draw near to them. God wants you to follow Christ as He is our example. If you read His parables and understand their plural meanings, there is no problem with this. However if your heart is hardened or you have doubt, God can't get through to you.
Hope this helps.
