Why did you join or why do you stay?

I'm currently looking around at various denonominations and congregations and am curious why people are the sort of Christians they are. So what is it about being Baptist or Presbyterian or Catholic or whatever that is so very special?

Roman Catholic Church and The Anglican
Catholic Church ?
Or are they basically the same ?

"What is the difference between an Anglican Catholic Christian Priest and a Roman Catholic Christian Priest ?

As Catholics we commemorate the birth and death of Christ as Easter and Christmas. Is this wrong because it is not in the bible?

you ask something and :
a- they quote the bible, (usually there is no connection between the quote and the question, but they quote anyway)
b- they insult
c- they say something that sounds nice but means little ("open your heart to god´s love" "love the sinner but hate the sin")
d- they "threaten" with god sending people to hell

I love the Lord and I am doing the best I can. But I am discouraged because there are people I love and adore going through a rough time and I am activelly seeking employment and it is taking some time. The adjustments I am going through are not always easy being I moved 2500 miles from home.

God is in control and I know that but I feel badly about some of the circumstances I listed above.

Will I look back years later and see that this was all a part of Gods plan to help me?

I feel sad that I cant fix or resolve things. How have you gotten through discouraging times and what has God taught you?

I'm personally ok with people not accepting my religion, even if i feel pain in knowing they won't be in heaven with me, but why must some others be so negative? You call us bigots and racists but are you also doing the same thing that you have critzed us for, not accepting others. I understand some follwers of my faith can be...enrgenic in their evanglisim but that gives no one the right to come abck at us with demeaning terms.

I want to say first that I'm not looking for any one's pity. How do you continue to have faith when you get knocked down time after time? Please don't give me a religious answer. Speak to me out of your own experiences. I don't have the strength I used to have in order to fight and to keep getting back up. How do you find the motivation to get up when you really just want to give up?

In this website, it talked about how the word
wicca is a male word or termerology and "wicce" is the proper word to use to idenitfy a female "wiccan" witch.
so due to this controversy, if the religion shouldn't be called wicca, what should it be called???

i cant imagine god has DNA or sperm, and if 100% of his DNA came from mary, he would be identical twin of her, humans cant exist without DNA, so where did it come from?

if god did have dna somehow, then god is a middle eastern male, as jesus was israeli and only male spem/DNA could concieve mary's female egg.

side note: i asked this question some odd 10 minutes ago, but it didnt appear on the list, i hope this one does.....

Here lately I've been in a funk...I go home from work and play games on the internet....Kind of a zoning out escaping from reality thing.. God keeps telling me to come hang out with Him instead but I push Him away...I don't want too but I feel distant and stuck....

Hello,
To the many Muslims in this world, why do you believe in hadiths?

Hadiths have clearly contradicted the Quran... such as the Quran says flog the adulterer, yet hadiths say to stone them.

Why do you believe that the Quran is wrong? Why do you believe that the Quran will misguide you if you follow it alone?

Don't ask me how do you do this and that becuase most of it is innovation in the first place, the Quran left it as is.

So tell me, why do you believe in something that needs MEN, who are not declared prophets or messengers of God, to confirm the authenticity of what the messenger said?

Why do you believe in something where every sect has thier own version?.... Sunnis have thier own hadiths and Shia's have thier own hadiths as well.

Why?

Basically, if hadiths contradict the Quran--- WHICH THEY DO, why would you believe in it?

I've been thinking about this and the bible says that it is a sin to kill but it is just to kill those who have sinned and have not excepted God into their lives. Now think about this: An unborn baby is alive and a human being but has not yet had the time or any moment to accept God into it's life so then that would make abortion just. Yet many Christians view abortion as wrong. Am I overanalyzing or am I right? What do you think?
